    Default DF vs Dabsaww (Ref - Oslo)

    Woo, got some evolved mons now =D
    Anyway, battle time.

    2 vs 2.
    DQ time = 5 days.
    Arena = Improbability vortex. In a small vortex time has frozen, giving out 42 random objects, namely a whale, 2 percussion instruments, 5 gold rings, 4 burning candles, A giant roulette wheel, 7 poisonous clouds (in lovely blue bottles), 2 angry lerprechauns, A giant lasagne, 6 lava lamps, A Packet of corn flakes, A talking set of 1 pound, 1 penny, 1 yen, 1 dollar, 1 cent, A quarter, A euro, A Bronze knut, and a Pokécoupon. Finally, there is a Lottery Machine, a Giant gravity generating table for us to stand on, and oddly enough a plantpot full of Petunias.
    In the battle we start on the giant table, which has its own gravity. The other objects float in midair, and only activate and are attracted by the gravity when they are touched by a pokemon/move. The table can support everything mentioned. Objects can be used in whatever shape is wanted.
    Banned moves: Toxic, rest, Pain split, attract.

    I'm sending first, my opponent has the first move.
    GO! GRUMPYPIG!

    I'll take this one to help you guys out, since you've been waiting so patiently. I've only just been approved, so go easy on me!

    Team Dogfish44 versus Team Dabsaww

    Location: Improbability vortex
    Rules: Toxic, Rest, Pain Split and Attract are banned
    Abilities: Inactive
    DQ Time: Five days

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 1 ‡

    Ahh, good ol' improbability vortex. It's really a great place, honest: no pesky neighbours and the view is just swell. So long as you don't mind the occasional disgruntled Leprechaun, this spot makes for quite a vacation—or, alternatively, a fiery Pokemon battle! Facing off today will be Dogfish44 and his Grumpypig against Dabsaww and his gungho Elekid. The two combatants exchange Dirty Harry-esque stares to set the tension. This match is on!

    Thinking smart, Elekid closes his eyes and erects a semi-permeable barrier of yellow light. Though well-executed, the Light Screen does nothing to hamper Grumpypig's powerful FocusPunch. Poor Elekid falls back to the ground, head spinning from the power of that Fighting-type move.

    <Grumpypig: -12 EP>
    <Elekid: -10 HP; -4 EP>

    Shaking off the exhaustion, Elekid gets back up. The battle's not over yet! The little yellow fellow inhales deeply before letting out an ear-splitting noise that has both trainers (and this referee, too) pressing their palms to their ears. Grumpypig has a better idea and instead snatches up a candlestick before Bouncing way up into the air. By the time the Screech makes it up so high, it sounds like little more than an annoying whistle.

    <Grumpypig: -3 EP>
    <Elekid: -4 EP>

    Gravity soon does what gravity does best as Grumpypig reaches the peak of its Bounce and begins swooping downward for the kill, candle in hand. Elekid, however, is ready for this one, and charges up a ThunderPunch. The two moves collide and the electricity melts the candle to a puddle of wax. The Flying-type move doesn't do a very good job of harming Elekid while, on the other hand, the crackling electricity causes Grumpypig to lose a little muscle control. Poor piggy.

    <Grumpypig: -7 HP; -3 EP; Paralysis>
    <Elekid: -3 HP; -6 EP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡
    Light Screen: Two Rounds
    Team Dogfish44 to command next

    Also, I'm assuming abilities are inactive because you guys didn't announce yours. If you guys want to play with abilities, speak now or forever hold your peace. As well, could you guys post the genders of your Pokemon? I know Attract is banned, but it's just good form and is relevant in case Captivate is used.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Oslo, good reffing.
    Anyway, GRUMPYPIG is male, seeing as the 2 stars of my original 4 are female.

    Anyway, I don't like paralysis, so let us try something which doesn't need you hopping around everywhere.

    Psychically grap the whale, and crush him with it, then throw the whale to one side.
    Follow up by forcing him back away from you towards the table edge with more psychic powers.
    In fact, lets make it a full set of 3.

    Psychic * 3

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 2 ‡

    Grumpypig isn't about to let no stinkin' paralysis get him down, no sirree. A purple glow surrounds him and his eyes shine with red light as psychic waves rush from his body. He picks up a distressed-looking whale and lobs it at his foe. Elekid gulps and... and jumps on a nearby pack of Corn Flakes! Hah, that will show him!

    Except not, because a packet of Corn Flakes is a packet of Corn Flakes and a whale is a friggin' whale. The soaring sea mammal smacks into him, crushing both his little yellow body and the packet of breakfast cereal.

    <Grumpypig: -8 EP>
    <Elekid: -8 HP; -2 EP>

    Snorting, Grumpypig again wields his Psychic powers. However, Elekid's Light Screen holds strong against this direct attack and filters out much of the move's effects. As this happens, Elekid begins to crackle and the hair on the trainers' arms begins to raise up. What smells like battery?

    <Grumpypig: -8EP>
    <Elekid: -4 HP>

    Again, Grumpypig assaults Elekid, trying to keep his foe at bay, but the Light Screen makes this endeavour difficult. Elekid is able to fight against the weakened barrage of psionic energy and delivers a souped up ThunderPunch to the piggy's jaw. And now it smells like... bacon?

    Light Screen duration and turn order are at the bottom of the reffing. It will last for one more round before vanishing. Also, it's your turn to attack next, not DF's.

    Oh I'm sorry. Ok Elekid, You're doing good. Jump and grab the percussion instruments. (assuming they're cymbals) And use a screech attack onto one. Let the sound waves bounce back and forth in the cymbals and then aim them both towards the soon to be piece of bacon. Then charge. afterward give him another superb thunder punch! OMG IM SO NOOB. I looked at the reffing stuff and it said it was my turn and light screen one turn. Good reffing lol

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 3 ‡

    Gleeful over that souped-up ThunderPunch, Elekid celebrates by picking up a pair of brass cymbals and Screeching into them. Directing the high-pitch wail toward his foe, Elekid unleashes the noise burst only to have Grumpypig erect a pink barrier right at the last second. The Magic Coat reflects the attack back at our little yellow friend and, just like that, the glee is gone. Tough break.

    <Grumpypig: -4 EP>
    <Elekid: -4 EP; -2 Defence>

    Again, Elekid crackles as it stores electric current. To combat this, Grumpypig replaces his Magic Coat with a nice sturdy Reflect. Live and let live.

    <Grumpypig: -4 EP>

    Bristling with energy, Elekid careens toward the little piggy to deal a ThunderPunch. Grumpypig opens its mouth in response to release a blast of something and… is that lockjaw? Yeah, paralysis is a bitch. The Reflect swallows up much of the move's effect, but hey, at least someone's dealing damage, eh?

    You're doing well. So far it's very possible that you could squeak out a win against Grumpypig, but DF is pretty tough, so you'd have to be on the ball if you want to take him out altogether.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 4 ‡

    Grumpypig keeps things careful, trying to not ignite the wrath of the gods of paralysis. He begins screwing up his face nastily in preparation for a Taunt, but Elekid is too fast and shimmies up onto the roulette wheel. Elekid grabs a seat on Red 14 and… the wheel begins to spin! We’re in motion.

    Grumpypig examines the wheel and the blurs of colour, timing his attack meticulously. When his Taunt finally bursts free, the soundwaves make contact with the wheel as it begins to stop. Did the move land? Did it hit Elekid? Ooh, this suspense is killing me!

    But nothing is killing Elekid, it seems. The Taunt lands on Black 20 as Grumpypig’s face drops. Thanks for playing, and don’t forget to tip your dealer.

    <Grumpypig: -4 EP>
    <Elekid: -2 EP>

    Relieved at his fortune, Elekid wraps a Light Screen around his body in anticipation of a special attack. His prediction was right on the money as, not five seconds later, powerful Psychic waves erupt from Grumpypig. Though still battered and buffeted, Elekid seems relatively okay.

    <Grumpypig: -8 EP>
    <Elekid: -4 HP; -8 EP>

    Hopping down from the wheel, Elekid fires off some powerful electricity which toasts the Grumpig. In retaliation, everyone’s favourite psychic piggy fires off another onslaught of powerful Psychic energy. No dice, Grumpypig; Light Screen has you bested again.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 5 ‡

    With the fifth round upon us, things heat up as Elekid hastens forward and smashes Grumpypig with a blow to the gut. The Fighting-type move deals minimal damage, but the swine’s precious barrier falls to pieces nonetheless. Feeling a bit vulnerable there, bud? As payback, Grumpypig closes its eyes as the sound of a bell’s toll fills the vortex. The source of the noise remains unseen, but Grumpypig’s rejuvenated state is definitely apparent and he bounces about to celebrate. Woohoo!

    <Grumpypig: -2 HP; -4 EP; Reflect broken; Paralysis cured>
    <Elekid: -4 EP>

    Elekid shows that he won’t be outdone and suddenly splits into a series of clones. Oh my! Grumpypig can’t tell the little yellow fellows apart and decides to let his move do the aiming for him. He shoots off a Shock Wave, which levels copies and strikes the real Elekid. However, between the Light Screen and Elekid’s Electric type, the move barely registers.

    <Grumpypig: -5 EP>
    <Elekid: -1 HP; -5 EP; +3 and then -3 clones>

    Sad by the loss of his little army, Elekid approaches Grumpypig, who merely sits there and gathers energy. Elekid suddenly bursts forward with dark energy and effectively mugs the Manipulate Pokemon. (Wow, what a dumb species name Grumpig has…) Though he don’t manage to take any objects, he definitely steals his share of hitpoints.

    And for the first time in the match, Elekid slips into the lead...

    <Grumpypig: -10 HP; +6 EP>
    <Elekid: -5 EP>

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 6 ‡

    Round six! Grumpypig heats things up by… taking a load off and Relaxing. Can you blame him? Seeing this as an opportunity to strike, Grumpypig tries for another Screech. Third time’s the charm, it seems, as the high-pitched shriek echoes off every random object here in our little vortex before striking the piggy. Finally!

    <Grumpypig: +6 EP; -2 Defence>
    <Elekid: -4 EP>

    With his defence severely compromised, Grumpypig is left with no other choice but to… continue Relaxing. Must be nice. Elekid, on the other hand, is taking the proactive approach by mugging our dear Grumpypig.

    <Grumpypig: -14 HP; +6 EP>
    <Elekid: -5 EP>

    Now, fuelled by renewed vigour, Grumpypig leaps to his feat. This piggy is ready to kick some ass! He commands a burst of Psychic energy and batters the Electric Pokemon to the best of his ability. Of course, the Light Screen filters out a good chunk of the damage, but the move registers nonetheless—as does Elekid’s Thunder, which comes crackling down from the heavens and sears Grumpypig’s behind.

    Start up with Snatching that double team. Hell yeah

    Follow up with a Brick Break to smash up his obnoxious Light Screen.

    Finish up by surrounding him and blasting him with an Extrasensory.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 7 ‡

    Ooh, look at this! Elekid’s body begins to look like it’s splitting up as clones start to extend from his body. In the middle of the move, however, a dark burst of energy shaped like a hand extends from Grumpypig and Snatches the effect up. Now it’s Grumpypig who has some comrades while Elekid stands there all on his lonesome. Aww, poor guy.

    <Grumpypig: -4 EP; +3 clones>
    <Elekid: -4 EP>

    Along with his piggy pals, Grumpypig rushes forth and slams Elekid with a wicked Brick Break. With the sound of shattering glass, the Fighting-type move successfully reduces Elekid’s Light Screen to naught. The move carries the bonus of doing extra damage thanks to Elekid's lowered defence. Pissed that his clones were Snatched and his Light Screen was smashed, Elekid glows black momentarily before rushing forward to steal all his foe’s money. No cash, Grumpypig? That’s fine; Elekid accepts hit points. And as he tries wrapping his arms around Grumpypig to take some, the Manipulate Pokemon simply vanishes. Damn, a clone!

    <Grumpypig: -5 EP; 2 clones>
    <Elekid: -10 HP; -5 EP>

    With the Light Screen gone, Grumpypig uses this as the prime opportunity to deal some Special damage. He fires off a powerful blast of Extrasensory that tears through the arena and smashes into Elekid. The little yellow fellow isn’t bested yet, however, as he hastens toward Grumpypig to again mug the purple swine! No luck, I’m afraid, Elekid. Clone again.

    <Grumpypig: -6 EP; 1 clone>
    <Elekid: -8 HP; -5 EP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡
    Note: At 0 EP, Pokemon will begin to lose 1 HP for every 2 EP they consume

    I like this clone thing. Very fun.

    Ok, Grumpypigs, chances are he's gonna use Shockwave, so start of by grabbing a candlestick, then using the flame to try and burn him in an Iron Tail.

    Follow up with a brick break IF it puts up a screen round 1/2, or jump onto the whale (How is that guy?) and use secret power (Prays for sleep)

    Round 3, if it falls asleep use a Dream Eater attack, if it awake with screens up use brick break, otherwise use Extrasensory.

    Can you clarify your second move, Dabsaww? If Elekid doesn't fall asleep (which wouldn't happen because we're not in tall grass) what electric move would he be using?

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 8 ‡

    Snorting with impatience, Grumpypig snatches up a candle in its coiling tail and runs toward Elekid. The little yellow fellow combats this by picking up a candle of his own and throwing it at Elekid but, unfortunately, the object merely passes through a clone before tumbling to the ground, extinguished. Tough luck. Grumpypig’s attack makes contact with Elekid and even deals a little extra fiery damage, too.

    <Grumpypig: -5 EP>
    <Elekid: -4 EP; -12 HP>

    Left without any clones, Grumpypig is feeling understandably vulnerable. With a spritely jump he scales the whale (poor guy) and fires off a beam of white energy. The move connects, but Elekid won’t be bested yet. He also climbs up on top of the whale and delivers a sizzling ThunderPunch. The whale grunts and, well, wails. I don’t pretend to be an expert whale-translator, but I imagine he’s telling you guys to get the fuck off. Geez, calm yourself, Mr. Whale…

    <Grumpypig: -5 EP; -5 HP>
    <Elekid: -4 EP; -9 HP>

    From atop the aquatic mammal, Grumpypig fires off a second blast of Extrasensory energy which knocks Elekid down on his bottom. Since he’s already recumbent, Elekid figures he might as well roll over and have a snooze, but two sharp blasts of my shiny whistle remind him to obey the rules. This is strictly a Rest-Free Zone, thanks.

    <Grumpypig: -6 EP>
    <Elekid: -8 HP>
