Round 1 dealt with double battles. Round 2 dealt with the unknown. Now Round 3 of the ASB Tournament will be relatively simple in comparison. You will have an official 2-2 match with your opponent.

Now, to business... I think I'll use my male shiny Poliwrath, Universe Man. Universe Man, start things out with a Bubblebeam. Then, try and hurt him some with Psychic, and wrap things up with a Psywave. However, should he get too close for comfort, try and push him away with Strength.

Ok haf, start off with a Fire Blast, evaporate those puny bubbles where they float. Now, use Mirror Move to send that Psychic attack straight back at Universe Man, hah! Now run at him to tempt him into using Strength, but use Quick Attack at the last second to leap out of his way and avoid getting hit.

~*Intro*~

"Ello everyone and welcome to the Semi Finals!" shouts the very annoying announcer into his microphone. Thankfully someone has turned down the volume and rigged the switch so that it cannot go up anymore. The ref of course would never, ever think of doing such a thing . . .

The packed stadium cheers in response, as crowds are apt to do. The ref carefully controls her facial expression but discreetly puts in her earplugs. The camera is never on the ref anyway, except when calling a Pokemon out. The sun is merrily shining, upon a grassy field that was recently marked with soccer chalk to mark the boundaries of the arena and where exactly the centre is. The mower man has recently gone over the field to as it is as immaculately groomed as any golf course.

"Please welcome your two semi finalists, RaZoR LeAf and TheBlue Avenger!" The crowd, if possible, gets even louder and cheers on their two trainers. Bets are being placed on the outcome, but the ref does not wish to be beat upon so has kept herself out of such things. Although some of the audience has taken to wearing either green or blue to show who they are rooting for.

The two trainers march confidently out onto the field. Both are veterans of ASB and are quite sure they will be the ones to triumph here today and go on to the Final Round. They walk to the centre and briefly shake their hands. The niceties must be abided. The quickly turn and step onto their platforms, the ref also taking hers. The waist high barriers lock into place and the platforms rise above the field. RaZoR LeAf looks composed while TheBlueAvenger looks eager to get started.

"I'll start off with Haf." states RaZoR LeAf and calmly tosses in his Pokeball. It reveals a male Blaziken that looks ready to rumble.

"I think I'll use Universe Man." says TheBlueAvenger, frowning a bit. He throws in his Pokeball that cracks open to reveal a male shiny Poliwrath.

~*Da Battle*~

Both trainers state their attacks and we get down to the battle. Universe Man, well it looks like he's taking a deep breath, and he starts to pump out a long stream of bubbles from the centre of his swirl. They float quickly over to Haf who smiles gamely and breathes deeply himself. He then spews forth a large stream of fire that he somehow shapes into the form of a Kanji. It ploughs toward Universe Man; the bubbles however do manage to slow it down. It decimates all the bubbles, saving Haf, but it is significantly smaller when it careens into Universe Man. Universe Man takes it gamely, and when the fire dies he barely has a mark on him.

Next Haf covers himself in a semi transparent white glow. Universe Man doesn't think twice as he grabs Haf with his mind. He doesn't find it easy but he lifts Haf into the air and pulls his arms and legs in separate directions. Haf closes his eyes and grunts, as his body is stretched in very painful directions. Finally Universe Man drops him and Haf takes a few deep breaths before using his Mirror Move and snatching the Poliwrath in the same way. He takes gleeful pleasure in doing the same things to Universe Man that he had inflicted upon himself.

Now Haf didn't wish to be blasted by the ever so painful Psywave so he decided to take advantage of Universe Man's sub. He ran at the Poliwarth, for all the world looking like he was going to slam the Pokemon upside the head. So Universe Man switched tactics. He gets his hands out in front of him, ready to grab the Blaziken. At the last second Haf half doges right, then left, and zips out of the way. Universe Man overextends and falls to the ground. He grumbles, but is not hurt. He gets up and glares at Haf, who looks triumphant.

Ok Haf, lets start off with a Aerial Ace, it's one advantage we have over that oafish frog, when you're in close, jump over Universe Man and deliver a Double Kick to his spine, and finish by driving a Thunder Punch into his kidneys.

(If you've seen Serenity (which is a great film) the Thunder Punch should be similar to how the Operative jabs his opponent's in the side (evil))

It seems we have gotten a few spectators that are louder then the rest. In fact I do remember megaphones being on sale at the front gate, but for an inordinate sum of money. Oh well, if you want your voice heard. That and one is a mod and rather forcefully took over the mic from the announcer. It will go down as one of the better moments in this Ref's life.

The trainers issue their orders and it appears that Haf is about to get his comeuppance, or at least a smart thrashing via Universe Man's rather wicked tactics. 'Verse calmly encloses himself in a layer of slightly brown glowing film. Haf appears oblivious. He whips his arms up and down repeatedly, sending off his deadly volley of assassin blades. The sharps air blades slice into 'Verse with much pain and he winces but gamely hold onto his concentration. He takes all his injuries, focuses it into the film and then launches the energy at Haf. It bolls him over with a cry and when he stands up he is covers with slice marks and bruises.

Now Haf wanted some revenge he rushed at 'Verse, His whole frame said "your going to get it." 'Verse watched quite calmly, in fact so calmly it looked as though he was concentrating on something very, very hard; which of course he was. As Haf leapt over his back he was slowly grabbing hold of the fighter. It was not easy as he was not a Psychic and was the very type it was prone too. As Haf landed and started to turn he fully grabbed a hold of him. He picked him up with much effort and tossed him over his shoulder. Haf was stopped from the attack, mentally abused, but was not tossed particularly far away.

Again Haf got up, seething with rage. He rushed at 'Verse his right claw pulled back, electrical energy starting to crackle in its midst. He reached 'Verse swung his arm forward, and had just barely started to thwack the Poliwrath when he was shoved backwards, head over claw by an absolute torrent of water. He skidded on the field before calming to a halt. He very slowly got to his feet, extremely angry. His wet feathers were sticking to his skin and it look like he had been dropped into a vat of hair gel. 'Verse, while tired is feeling triumphant.

Haf is steamed at 'Verse. He wants to inflict as much damage as possible on 'Verse for last turns pain. So he speeds toward ‘Verse, hoping to get right in beside him, to get him with a point black Aerial Ace. He does manage to get quite close to his target and swipes his arms up and down. The shards of speedy air are deadly accurate and slam into ‘Verse with quite a lot of pain on his part. ‘Verse cries out, but decidedly gets his revenge he picks up Haf, and swinging him around twice he lets fly, sending Haf quite a ways across the stadium. Haf bounces on the ground but quickly gets up, already rushing at ‘Verse for his next move.

‘Verse sees Haf coming and gets ready to grab him once again. Just as he reaches out and snatches Haf, Haf slams him in the head with a Thunder Punch. ‘Verse yells and drops Haf in mid spin, doing barely any damage at all. ‘Verse is clutching his head in pain and Haf gets up, looking mighty pleased with himself.

Now ‘Verse is not pleased and so he reaches out and grabs Haf again, whipping him around and around. He flings him with all his strength, paying no attention to the brown glow whatsoever. Haf spins in the air like a Frisbee before crashing into the ground, doing a horrifying rendition of a skier falling down a mountain. He groans as he lays on the ground, but had enough sense to let flying with his built up energy towards ‘Verse. ‘Verse yells again as the pain and damage of Haf’s crash flows over him twofold.

Ok Haf, it doesn't matter how tough Universe Man thinks he is, there's no where near enough water for him to pull off an attack that will be able to extinguish an Overheat! Direct it at your enemy and watch him burn! *cackle* Lastly pinch him and punish him with a double Thunder Punch!

Hm hm hm... Universe Man, before he can use the Overheat (I imagine it would take a little time to charge?), put up a small Substitute to take the damage for you. Remember, make it small; we can't waste health here. Then use a Hydro Pump to keep him at bay, then finish with a Water Gun.

Well now Haf decides he would very much like to see his adversary roasted, and quite thoroughly too. So he reaches deep within himself, searching for the hot core that makes his skin so hot, and is the source of all his flames. Meanwhile ‘Verse does not wish to be blackened to a crisp, so starts to pop out a replica of himself. He copies his entire outward make up, only in miniature. It splits off from him and he sets it in front of himself, twisting it with his mind so HaF will think it is him, no matter how small it is. Haf has been concentrating on dredging up all of his reserve fire energy; he must make this blast as powerful as possible. He opens his eyes, flaming red, and looks on his opponent. Now curiously smaller but perhaps that is only distance. He takes a humongous gulp of air, igniting the gases as he spews the super heated mixture at ‘Verse. It engulfs the Sub, and it takes about half of the hit, before shattering. The flame continues on to the real ‘Verse. It flows over him, dealing good damage. ‘Verse comes out quite black, but Haf looks exhausted.

‘Verse screams his out rage at Haf, who in turns cries his own challenge. He rushes at ‘Verse, intending to slam him with a Thunder Punch, hopefully rendering the Poliwrath unconscious. ‘Verse just won’t put up with this, and drudges up his own great attack. He takes his own deep breath, combining Oxygen it with the Hydrogen and gushes his torrent of newly formed water at Haf. Haf is bowled of his feet and sent flying backwards. ‘Verse keeps up the pressure until he runs out of water. When he stops, panting, he is triumphant. Haf is totally unconscious, kissing the muddy ground quite thoroughly. RaZoR LeAf sighs and returns his Pokémon with praises.

Well now, Sharp just an't playin fair, but such is life. As 'Verse gathers his watery powers, and Sharp rises high into the air. 'Verse spots a bought of water but Sharp zips aside, starting to spin around and around 'Verse. 'Verse is very frustrated and spouts again and again, but can't hit Sharp, no matter how hard he tries. He grumbles, and pants as he tries to catch his breath.

Sharp 'skids' to a stop in the air, and seeing how his opponent is still very much alive, he rips off one of his stripes, transforming it into a vine. It reaches down and wraps around 'Verse, sucking the life out of him. He groans and goes down on one knee, but does not faint. So Sharp does it again the vine bulging as it sucks out life from his watery foe. 'Verse finally goes down, with little more then a sigh.

TBA recalls his Poliwrath, smiling despite his Pokémon's fall; he did his job well and says as much to his Poké. He thinks for a bit before tossing out his shiny Weezing. This round begins with a mighty blast, both Pokémon start to form up a ball of ghost energy. One is a sickly purple and the energy seems to ooze around the ball. The other is light green with the crackles going off sporadically, along with being light blue in colour. They both finish their attack simultaneously and the give them a little mental shove at their opponents. The balls whiz through the air, crackling menacingly. They meet in the centre of the area with a brownish explosion. Neither Pokémon is hit, only blown back a bit from the air pressure.

Ninjask, being physically faster then Weezing zooms at Sedgewick, her two sets of wings going in overtime. She raises her right forclaw and it begins to glow white. Sedgewick meanwhile is causing himself to have stomach pains. He makes his already potent stomach acids go into over drive and he feels it gurgle inside him. As Ninjask swipes down with her claw, he throws up. The splatter connects with the bug at the same time his scythe hits Sedgewick. Sedgewick is spun away while Edge wipes frantically at her right side. It is no use as the poison has seeped into her wing joints.

Edge buzz-grumbles and comes at Sedwock again, this time with her left claw. Being closer this time he hits Sedgewick before he can even start his attack. Sedgewock spins again, with two claw marks on his body he is quite a bit of pain. He grumbles and charges up his attack, wanting to cause his annoying buggy foe pain. The electricity crackles around him for a bit before it sparks off him in sporadic waves. Quite a few of the shocks find this mark and Edge crashes to the ground, her wings momentary unable to work.

Now this is a rather strange event, the bug, Sharp, zooms toward the ground and starts tearing at it with her two front claws. I do believe she is the only bug that can dig. She pulls his fragile wings in close to his body as his upper torso starts to descend into the ground. Sedgewick wastes no time as he sees his opponent disappearing, he and his smaller twin brother take deep breaths and turn their deadly noxious gas into a flammable substance. They breath is out into the air and it explodes on contact with oxygen and they blow it toward Sharp. It is of no use as when they stop all there is, is a hole leading into the ground.

Sedgewick sighs; he will have a hard time reaching his opponent now. He flats over to the hole and starts to switch his gas again, this time holding it inside him to make it super hot, and therefore burning. Sharp is busy herself under the ground. She is splitting herself off into a double. She leaves it behind her and starts for the surface again. Sedgewick’s flames are finally ready and he breaths super heated blue flames down into the hole. Sharp bursts up out of the ground and flings her wings open to make her characteristic buzzing sound. Hmm, reminds me of a June bug, destroys your lawn, but make great play things when you’re young. Anyway Sedgewick is might confused, there’s Sharp there flying at him, but there is another underground. He grunts but then decides to go for the one underground. He powers up a sickly orb of a greenish purple colour and fires it into the hole. It gets about half way down before hitting the curving wall and explodes. The explosion rocks the tunnel and the entire thing collapses. The Sub is annihilated in the collapsing tunnel. In the confusion Sedgewick doesn’t see the real Sharp come up out of the dust and slashes him right across his old cut. It opens up again and wider too. He yell-screeches and gas escapes from his mouth.

*Round Eight Begins*

As round eight of this tournament battle is underway, both pokemon stare at eachother. One poisoned, one bleeding.

Suddenly, out of nowhere Sharp shoots out a black and blue orb right at Sedgewick. Seeming to do nothing, Sedgewick only curses and irritates Sharp. The shadowball hit and Sedgewick strumbled back, it caused some good damage, but he got his evil scheme in.

Trying to pull off the same move twice, Sharp fails because she’s to irritated and furious to do anything twice. Sedgewick just grins as he and his second head fire a blazing heat that comes from without his gassy body. Sharp gets burned heavily as she’s still furious.

Sedgewick waits no more as he collects another amout of fire-energy from within, this time for a full Flamethrower attack. While he unleashes the mighty fire attack, Sharp had gotten calm enough to fire another blue and black orb. Both attacks miss eachother and go right for their target. Both pokemon get blown aside by the powerfull attacks and sigh heavily. Sedgewick cries as her wounds are hurting even worse.

Use Gust to blow the Flamethrower around and hopefully cause it to blow back into Sedwick. Screech to distract from the thunderbolt, and then another Gust to blow the Flame Thrower out of sync again.

*Round Nine Begins*

Both pokemon are hurt by various effects variating from bleeding slash marks ‘till burned bodies. Sedgewick wants to finish this battle and sends out another flurry of deepred flames towards Sharp. Sharp frownes and immediately starts to flap her wings at a fast rate. She whips up a gust and partly absorbs the Flamethrower. Both Sharp and Sedgewick get hurt by the flames that are being blown in every direction.

After the last attack was rather dramatic, Sedgewick tries to use electricity now. He concentrates and feels energy run through him. Sharp tries to counter the attack again as she opens her mouth and starts screeching as hard as her lungs would tolerate. Sedgewick gets distracted by this and therefore his aim was a bit off, most of the attack, did however reach the target and Sharp was shot down out of the sky into the floor.

Sedgewick grins as he tries to finish it. Feeling ready to try another fire attack, he collects energy and blasts of another series of flames. Sharp gets up and tries to whip up another Gust attack. It succeeded, but it wasn’t as powerfull as the first time and therefore she gets hit pretty badly. Sedgewick smiles as his opponent is weared down and exhausted.
