Remember that new Mewtwo form that was revealed months ago? Well apparently according to the latest CoroCoro magazine and video released by Nintendo, that is a new type of Pokemon evolution called a “Mega Evolution”.
Blaziken evolving into Mega Blaziken
Mega Evolution can only happen during a Pokemon battle when the Pokemon is holding a “Mega Stone”. Mega Stones are not available during normal gameplay according to the video. There will be distribution events that you can get ahold of Pokemon holding Mega Stones. You will be able to get Torchic holding a Mega Stone when Pokemon X and Y is released on October 12th.
The new issue of the Japanese magazine CoroCoro shows “Mega” forms of a variety of current Pokemon, such as Mewtwo, Lucario, Blaziken, Absol, Ampharos and Mawile can evolve into their Mega forms: Mega Mewtwo, Mega Lucario, Mega Blaziken, Mega Absol, Mega Ampharos and Mega Mawile.
Korrina the roller skating gym leader of Shalour City
According to the official Pokemon website, the gym leader of Shalour City, Korrina, appears to be the one who will help you with these Mega Evolutions in the Tower of Mastery.
