June CoroCoro: Starters and trainer art

The CoroCoro leaks have started! The starters have been revealed, confirming the suspicions of many fans that the silhouettes revealed earlier represent, from left to right, the Grass-type, Fire-type, and Water-type. Art for the two player-character trainers has also been revealed for the first time and they are confirmed to be older than the main characters from past Pokémon games.

I generally decide on my starter after I've seen the fully evolved form, but so far the Treecko-wannabe looks like the best to me. The water one looks abhorrent.

Heres hoping their Evo's do some justice. Their styles seem to hint at multiple types too. Is it me or does it look like they couldend up as Grass/Dragon, Fire/Ground, Water/Ice?

I doubt that because the first things I think about penguins is water and ice. Empoleon, a fully evolved penguin starter is Water/Steel. I'm pretty sure they'll throw us for a loop with these starters as well. For all we know their fully evolved evolutions would be Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, Water/Fighting.

Is it bad that i somehow prefer the fire fakemon? This freaking pig is even worse than the water fake pig. The otter (Otter FTW!!) looks a bit clownish lol. That grass snake looks weird. I guess they'll grow on me with time. Hopefully.

Now WHAT?! Older protagonists? How the hell are they going to explain this? And could this mean that Ash has a chance on growing up in the next series? O.o Boy i am freaking excited!! The girl though... is it only me or is she a bit slutty?

Well, just because you need to be 10 to be a trainer doesn't mean everyone goes out and gets their license on their 10th birthday. And yeah, the girl trainers seem to be less conservatively dressed each gen.

As for which Starter I'll pick, I'm actually torn between Tsutaaja (the Grass-type) and Pokabu (the Fire-type).

Even Mijumaru (the Water-type) is cute in its own way, though.

As people at Legendary Pokemon are pointing out, however, it looks sad. Aww. *HUG*

Oh, and I think the new girl trainer is cool, just like her predecessors. IMHO, the only thing that could be considered "slutty" at all about her is her short shorts (LOL), but short shorts and skirts are common in the Pokemon universe, soooooo...

This is coming from a female who is not a lesbian, and who is not easily offended by how female characters in games and such dress.

Think of it this way, though: "Great minds think alike."

Personally, I've got a text file of Fakemon I've created (mostly during the 2nd Generation), and some of them (mainly Typings like Water-Grass and Ghost-Flying) have come true in subsequent generations, and I think that's cool!

Oh, and DarkestLight and Dark Scizor, where are you getting the speculative English names for the Fire-type starter from? BladeMaster's pic?

Oh, and I've noticed on deviantART that poor little unloved Mijumaru is gaining a cult following, and I must admit it's growing on me more, too! (Not that I even hated it, it's just that I liked the other Starters more, and still do.)

I'll guess I'll wait 'till I see the Starters' evolutions before I make a final decision.

My Dad and I were looking at Serebii last night, and according to them, the next issue of "CoroCoro" (which comes out on June 15th, but you KNOW it'll get leaked ahead of time!) will have more info, including how to get Zorua, plus a reveal of yet another new Pokemon!
