"Woah, really?" the first says. "Ah, this whole thing is so crazy! Thanks for keeping us in the loop!"

"Yeah, definitely!" the second adds. "Now I'll be able to find treatment for my hive--"

Suddenly, a familiar voice comes on over a loudspeaker.

"Taillows! Eet eez time for you to listen closely!" comes Lord Félix's blaring voice. "Eet 'as become clear zat we 'ave been breached! Apparently, ze invaders 'ave freed ze prisoners in ze library! I am told zey look like Taillows: one eez black and light blue, one eez royal blue and white and red, one eez beige and brown and ze last eez coloured like a 'uman! I believe ze 'uman who owns ze Rapidash and Druddigon might be using illusions like 'e did when 'e met me, so be vigilant!"

The two Taillows stare at you and blink.

"Awkward," Bethany whispers.

Catherine and Sandy overwhelm the Taillows and you quickly slip inside the Infirmary before shutting the heavy doors behind you. You find yourself in a large room gazing out upon a sea of cots, each bearing an unconscious Zigzagoon or Linoone. You recognize some of them from your previous visit to the colony.



Among the hundred and fifty Pokemon here, you see a Linoone whose unique colouring catches your eye. You've never seen her before, but in a weird way she looks familiar.

Everyone else, let's start administering water. Although that linoone's rainbow coloring reminds me of Hadley, because she's the only one I knew of that had rainbow coloring... Although there's no way she could be here, because she's outside where bethany showed me earlier.

As quickly as you can, you section off the room into six separate areas and begin to squirt fountain water from the water pistols into the Zigzagoon's and Linoone's mouths. The effects are instantaneous: as soon as the water enters the rodents' mouths, you watch them begin to stir. By the time you and your team have squirted water into the mouths of the rodents in your respective section, you watch as they begin to stir.



The blue Linoone with iridescent stripes looks at you.

"Who... what?" she croaks. "What has... what is happening?"

Before you can respond, you hear shouts from outside.

"Are those two... sleeping?" someone asks loudly.

"They've been Hypnotized!" someone else shouts. "The culprits must be inside the Inframatory! Get them!"

"Er... did you mean Infirmary?" the first voice inquires.

"What did I say?"

"Inframatory."

"Oh. Right. Infirmary. My bad. Anyway, yes, get them!" the second voice cries.

"Excuse me," the blue one with iridescent stripes says, "but you wouldn't happen to know--"

Suddenly, a loud thwack fills the air and you realize one of the Taillows outside the Infirmary has cut a gash in the door using an Air Slash.

"We will need to block the door with something," Latios says with a note of urgency.

"But there's no way you Taillows would turn against us," Suresh says. "Your kind bears no ill-will toward us. Ever since Hector K. Linoone saved Félix R. Swellow, you colony has felt nothing but gratitude toward us. Why should we believe you? Who are you, Taillow? Have you defected from your kind of something?"

Ugh, somebody should get this guy a SparkNotes version of the past hundred-or-so rounds of this quest.

If I meant any ill will to you, I wouldn't be giving you soul fountain water right now.

But, If I must, I'll explain to you further. However, Veronica, sandy, catherine, find some things to barricade the door.

Ok, apparently the history you guys were taught was a bit of a lie. I'm going to repeat exactly what felix said as soon has he beat you guys in battle and knocked you all out.

First, Felix said: "So, you figured you could rely on ze legendary gratitude of my great-great-etc.-grandfazzer's descendants to save you from your troubles? Pffsh! Yes, pffsh! Zat story I told you earlier about 'Ector and my great-great-etc.-grandfazzer? I was leading you on! Eet eez all 'ogwash! Ze Zigzagoons of Sunshine Fields may want to remember zeir origins zat way, but zat is not what 'appened! A Swellow, lost in eez own woods? 'Oo could not fight off a bunch of Victreebels despite a type advantage? C'est ridicule! En fait, eet was ze other way around! Félix R. Swellow was ze one 'oo actually saved 'Ector K. Linoone from zose 'ungry plants! Yes, eet is true!"

Then Georgette over here said: "No it's not! I'm an advisor for the colony, I've read all the historical documents... Hector K. Linoone really did save Félix R. Swellow! That is objective fact!"

Then Felix responded: "All lies! When Latias and Latios arrived at ze scene, 'Ector started spinning a tall-tale about saving ze very Pokemon 'oo saved him! And so 'Ector was rewarded with ze Soul Dew while my great-great-etc.-grandfazzer, 'oo truly deserved it, got nozzing at all! So what did Félix R. Swellow do? 'E swore revenge against Latias and Latios and ze Zigzagoons, of course! 'E figured if 'e could some'ow defeat Latias and Latios, ze Soul Dew would lose eets power and ze injustice would be fixed! So 'e purchased a magical, transformative spell from a Zorua warlock to use against ze Eon Pokemon if 'e ever encountered zem again. Of course, Latias and Latios are exceptionally rare... to encounter zem twice een one lifetime eez all but impossible... so he passed ze magical spell down to 'is son, 'oo would finish ze job if 'e ever encountered Latias and Latios! But 'e never did encounter ze Eon Pokemon either, so 'e passed ze spell down to 'is son to finish ze job... 'oo passed eet on to 'is son... and so ze spell was passed down from Félix to Félix for generations!"

Long story short, Felix got the spell, turned Latios here along with his sister to stone (who we WILL go back for once this is over) while they were taking a drink at Ivy Woods, and is the reason why the soul fountain water wasn't flowing. But I went on a rather long journey to get a potion to reverse the spell, saved latios, and now the water is flowing again.

Now, any OTHER questions? Latios' mirage is going to wear off in a bit if you want any OTHER proof that it really is him.

As your Pokemon barricade the door with a spare cot, you put on your best French accent and do a (shockingly accurate) rendition of Lord Félix's battlefield spiel. Surprised whispers spread among the hundred and fifty Pokemon in the Infirmary.



"So, you are an outsider," Suresh says. "I'm afraid we cannot work with you. We should not even be speaking to you right now. Our ordinances prevent us from having contact with those outside the colony, so--"

"Hush, Suresh," the blue Linoone with iridescent stripes says placidly. "The time for ordinances has passed. Thank you for restoring us, young one. Though I am one of the colony's Elders, I recognize moments when I must defer to the knowledge and expertise of others. Please, instruct us as to how we should proceed from here. We are strong; we can fight if we must. First, though, please... during your adventure, did you happen upon two young Zigzagoon named Hadley and Jackson? They are my grandchildren. I wish to know if they are safe."

You watch as Air Slashes begin to tear through the cot blocking the door. You don't have much time.

Your grandchildren are safe, for the moment. They are in a secluded location. However, we should probably get some fountain water to them as soon as possible.

Now, if we are all ready, it's time for a plan of attack.

Guys, I want you all to sort of "Play dead." Pretend we didn't succeed, and that you are all still very sick. We should also probably stash the squirt guns somewhere.

Latios, I want you to hide somewhere for the time being, because there is no way we can allow you to be captured. If you can, make a new mirage for yourself while getting rid of the one on me and my pokemon and bethany. My pokemon and I will let ourselves be captured, and I want you, latios, to lead a surprise attack once we leave.

Bethany, you are a linoone that is very experienced in battle. I want you to help Latios lead the zigzagoon in battle. Be sure to hide yourself as well, because the taillow will probably be suspicious of a normally-colored linoone.

Don't worry about us. I'm pretty sure we're used to being captured by now. We have the element of surprise on our side, and we will use that to our advantage. Once you are all sure that the coast is clear, begin the attack. We'll join up with you guys later.

Gran nods as you inform her of her grandchildren's safety and then quickly plays dead along with the rest of the Zigzagoon and Linoone. Latios dispels all the mirages and then hides behind a stack of cots with Bethany, taking the water pistols with him. A final blast of Air Slashes rips the cot in front of the door to shreds and a potpourri of coloured Taillows spills into the Infirmary.



"Gotcha!" the red Taillow cries as he latches onto your right arm with his talons. The green one does the same to your left. "Thought you could rescue the raccoons, eh? Well, they're sick and dying! Joke's on you, I'm afraid!"

"You and your band of Pogeys are coming with us to see Lord Félix," the purple Taillow chirps. "Oh, he's gonna enjoy this dearly."

The colourful army of birds grabs you by the arm and takes you back outside. Soon, you find yourself being led up the steps to the Colony Hall which stands only a short jaunt away from the Infirmary. You pass into the familiar building where you encountered Suresh, General Cole, Georgette and Jackson plotting together so long ago. Here, perched upon a table is none other than everyone's favourite French Swellow... Lord Félix himself. You see that the Soul Fountain has given him a bit of a makeover.



"'Uman, 'uman... why do you continue to be a zorn een my side?" he asks in a silky voice. "Zis eez truly, truly starting to annoy me. All I ask ees zat you make zis easy for me as well as for you. Ze Soul Fountain eez flowing, and so I know ze Eon Pokemon must have been restored. You will tell me where Latios and Latias are... because ozzerwise, I will not be kind to you and your Pokemon partners. Not so kind at all."

Maybe I could be your own personal servant and give you soozing foot massages until ze end of my days, eh? Oh, 'ow lovely would zat be... NOT! Seriously, 'uman, do you zink I am a bloody fool? 'Ow much 'ubris do you zink I 'ave? Do you zink I got to be a lord by agreeing to battle Jolteons left and right? No, I did not! I got to be a lord by being much more intelligent zan zat!"

"Well, actually, sir," one of the Taillows pipes up, "our colony is strictly dynastic in structure, so you earned your deferential appellation by right of birth, which negates the validity of your assertion that intelligence played any role in the--"

"'Ow about you shut your beak and fetch ze guillotine, eh?" Lord Félix squawks furiously. The Taillow skitters away into another room and after a moment returns, wheeling in a large wooden contraption armed with a steel blade. "'Uman, I would like to introduce you to my friend, Monsieur Guillotine. 'E is a loyal companion but 'as a very sharp temper... and an even sharper blade. Tell me what you did avec ze Eon Pokemon or Monsieur Guillotine shows what 'e can do and eet will be off avec your Jolteon's 'ead!"

Latias is staying at your old camp for the time being, and I honestly have no idea where Latios is at the moment. That's all the info I'm able to give you. Even if I DID have more info, I sure as heck wouldn't be willing to give it to you.

Hear my words, though, felix. You and your bird brain will not get away with any of this. The legendaries are free, and there's no longer anything you can do about it. As far as I'm concerned, you've lost.

You may have the fountain, but that will not matter for long. I've spoken with Latios, and I've found out the secret to reversing the effects of the fountain.

You watch as the Taillows slip rubber sleeves over their wings before grabbing onto Veronica and tugging her toward the guillotine. She whimpers and looks to you for direction.

"Lead me to ze nearest Eon Pokemon or Monsieur Guillotine 'as a snack," Lord Félix says deviously.

"Eet eez a shame," Lord Félix says, hanging his head. "She was such a pretty Jolteon, too, avec such a lovely head. I will make sure to 'ave it prominently mounted somewhere een ze colony. Now, Taillows, eet eez time for Monsieur Guillotine to 'ave 'is supper."

The Taillows wrestle Veronica into place. However, before Lord Félix can give the command, you hear a familiar shout from somewhere outside. The voice sounds like it belongs to Lady Bethany.

"Zigzagoon and Linoone of Sunshine Fields! Attack!" she shouts. You then hear a chorus of shouts and pattering feet as numerous bodies spill out into the street. You also hear several alarmed squawks.

"'Old on!" Lord Félix barks and the Taillows pause Veronica's execution. "Eez zat... zat sounds like Lady Bezzany! What eez going on? Explain, 'uman! Explain right zis second!"

You issue commands to your Pokemon. Veronica Discharges a broad cone of electricity which catches the Taillows off-guard and allows her to slip away from the guillotine. Sandy blasts Catherine with some hot flames, which gives your Rapidash enough firepower to blow the birds back with a mighty Heat Wave. You then escape the Colony Hall and rush out into the street.

You step into pandemonium. A hectic rainbow of birds and raccoons issue attacks on all sides and it's all you can do to keep yourself from getting swallowed up in the mess. You search for any sign of Bethany, but you can't spot her amid the chaos. Your Pokemon form a ring around you, protecting you from errant attacks.

Hoping Latios is tuned to your thoughts, you try to relay instructions to him, though you have no way to determine whether he can hear your transmission. Meanwhile, you peer over at the Colony Hall and watch as Lord Félix and his Taillow retinue step out into the chaotic street.




While the Taillows swoop into battle, Lord Félix glances around with a nervous look on his face. You watch as he then begins to fly toward the exit. The coward! Meanwhile, your Pokemon peer at you with eager expressions. They look like they want to join the fight.

You issue commands to Veronica. She uses her Agility to rocket after Lord Félix; however, a Taillow stumbles into her path and she collides with the bird. You watch as several other birds pile on top of her followed by several Zigzagoon who pile on top of the birds until Veronica is nowhere to be seen. You watch as a discharge of sparks fly into the air, signalling that she's alright, but you can't see her amid the chaos. Sandy and Catherine cheer her on nonetheless.

Meanwhile, you watch as Lord Félix disappears down the tunnel leading to the exit. Though you continue trying to contact Latios with your thoughts, you see no sign of the Eon Pokemon.

Catherine Wild Charges into the pile of Taillows. The Electric-type attack knocks a few birds away, but even more swoop downward and surround your Rapidash. You watch as she's also swallowed up in a sea of birds and raccoons.

With only Sandy by your side, you pursue Lord Félix. You run away from the chaotic battle toward the tunnel and then follow the carpeted corridor to the exit. When you finally step out into fresh air, you realize that it is once again night. (My goodness, how long have you been awake?!) Compared to the pandemonium down below, the evening air is still and peaceful. You scan your surroundings for Lord Félix and eventually spot a black, white and yellow shape way up in the air.



He's so far away. He's almost escaped.

Sandy leaps into the air with an Aerial Ace and gains even more altitude by repeating the attack. Though she's not quite as high as Lord Félix, she's nonetheless within range and is able to strike the Swellow with a Focus Blast. As Sandy lands deftly on the ground, Lord Félix enters into a tailspin and collides hard into the ground a few feet away from you. He eventually manages to pull himself up and peers at you with a look of pure malice.

"Why must you continue to infuriate me, 'uman?" the Swellow hisses. "We are done! Zis eez eet! We battle!"

You watch as Lord Félix performs a Double Team and create four replicates. The five Swellows then take aim at Sandy and hit her hard with a pair of Air Cutters. The attacks slice against Sandy's scaled hide and leave her invigorated and ready for more. Lord Félix frowns. Clearly, he was expecting those attacks to do more damage.

Sandy combines an aerial flip with a cracking punch that throws Lord Félix back several feet. His clones vanish but he loses no momentum. He retaliates with a Heat Wave that doesn't do a whole lot of damage to your Dragon-type but then makes up for it with a Steel Wing which does a fair bit more. He suffers a little extra damage from Sandy's Rough Skin, though. Your Druddigon then attempts to trap Lord Félix within a Rock Tomb, but the Swellow dodges with a swift Agility.

Suddenly, you notice Lord Félix's colour seems to be changing. His plumes are fading back to their normal hues.

"What eez zis?" he exclaims as he stares at his blue feathers in shock. "I drank from ze Soul Fountain an hour ago! Why eez my colour fading already?"

Sandy and Lord Félix lunge at each other as they trade off Aerial Aces. Both Pokemon are knocked back but Lord Félix recovers gracefully and attacks with an Air Slash. Sandy sustains the hit and then tromps forward to deliver a ThunderPunch followed closely by another ThunderPunch. You watch as static sizzles all over Lord Félix's body as he succumbs to Paralysis. Hah!

Your joy quickly fades. The Swellow's body begins to blaze with white light and a treacherous smirk curls across his face. With his ability now in play, Lord Félix pummels into Sandy's chest with an all-consuming Giga Impact and pins your Druddigon hard to the ground. She lets out a wail of pain.

As Lord Félix is forced to recharge from that energy-consuming Giga Impact, Sandy rips into him with various melee attacks. Battered and bruise, Lord Félix waits until his strength has recovered and attempts to go back on the offensive... only to be rendered immobile as Paralysis has its way with him. His sudden rigidity gives Sandy an opening to continue her physical assault, this time attacking with a Superpowered physical assault. She's left drained panting after the attack.

Suddenly, the sky begins to glow purple as a mighty meteor screams down to earth before crushing Lord Félix beneath its weight. Ash and dust fill the air. Sandy gasps and a tense silence hangs around you as the dust clears. Just as you begin to wonder whether victory might be yours, Lord Félix bursts free from underneath the meteor and begins to cackle madly. The French despot really seems to have lost it now. The sky begins to glow purple once again as a second Draco Meteor swoops down from the skies. The Mirror Moved attack collides with Sandy and, with super effective strength, launches her backwards. She lands hard against the ground and winces in pain. She seems to have had the wind knocked out of her.

As Sandy attempts to recover from that colossal blow, Lord Félix begins to limp toward her with a gleam of victory in his eyes. He laughs softly under his breath.

Lord Félix shines with a blinding light and prepares to crush Sandy beneath one final Giga Impact, but your Druddigon has other plans. Sandy vanishes into darkness as the attack collides with the earth; she then reappears behind Lord Félix. The Swellow's eyes go wide as he spins around.

"Mais non!" he exclaims. "Please, I beg you, 'ave some merc--"

Sandy lashes out with a swipe of Dark-type energy and, with that, Lord Félix falls. He is defeated.

As if on cue, you hear the flapping of innumerable wings coming from somewhere nearby. Sandy tackles you out of the way as a fleet of normal-coloured Taillows bursts free from the colony entrance. Paying no heed to their fallen leader, they shoot off into the sky and soar off into darkness. They look beaten and fearful. There are too many to count, but you estimate that there must be hundreds.

Suddenly, you see a series of dark shapes heading toward you from across the open field.

You bide your time until Lord Félix recovers. His eyes flutter open and, sprawled upon his back, he watches as his erstwhile subjects fly off into the night sky without giving him a second thought. Tears well up in his eyes.

"I 'ave failed," he croaks. "I 'ave failed my colony. I 'ave failed my forefazzers. I 'ave failed myself."

You look up and watch as the dark shapes approach. Among the fifty Pokemon drawing near, you spot a number of familiar faces.




"BTPoke! We did it!" Hadley exclaims as she leaps into your arms. She looks up at the retreating birds. "We won! We won!"

"As soon as you left, I asked Bethany where Hadley and Jackson and the others were," Gran explains. "I grabbed a couple of water pistols, filled them with fountain water and slipped out of the colony to restore the remaining Zigzagoon. I thought our army might need the reinforcements, but clearly you coped quite admirably. Congratulations, human. We owe our lives to you."

Over the excited cheers, you can hear Lord Félix sobbing softly.
