The avian seems pleased with having the phantom on the ropes. He flutters there peacefully, watching the ghost sputter up a electrical response. Tyypical. Robirdo waits, and when the Shockwave is relased, bullets forth. He gets struck by the concetric rings, but slams home a hit that almost knocks Tyrant off of the pedastal its on. The pedestal sinks to support the uneven weight, until Tyrant stabilizes in the center again.

The hit though...didn't seem to bother Tyrant all that much.

The avian banks around and goes to insult the phantom again, but something odd happens. The metallic disc that carries Tyrant zips off at the speed of dark, and reappears in front of Ro's face. The bird squawks in surprise as it strikes him, and is immediately followed by a ear splitting yell, that completely makes his use of chirps ineffective.

That's upsetting. Robirdo flaps backwards, to see Tyrant just floating there, glad to have outsmarted the bird. No matter. Ro just aims a second blast of air for that keystone, trying to erode it at an accelerated rate.

How did Payback do so little damage? Dark/Ghost Pokemon are neutral to Dark attacks (Dark resistance + Ghost weakness), and Robirdo had just been hit with a super-effective move.

Robirdo, conversely, took MORE damage from Shadow Sneak: A move that not only does his Steel typing resist, but which is also horribly weak (40 damage compared to Shock Wave's 60).

We can both make this as complicated as you like, chaos.

Tyrant knows that this method of striking is more beneficial than anything so once again, he vanishes. Robirdo flies around, wondering where the ghost will appear..Damnit! Again with the smack to the face! Robirdo backs away and takes a deep breath just as Tyrant starts to grumble something about his wings. Nope, not having it. He screechroars, and the sound is enough to actually intimidate the ghost and force him to take a few floating paces backwards.

Tyrant floats in the air, and gets over his concurrent fear long enough to fire off a blast of Electricity. Robirdo takes the strike, and flies right into him again. That hit bugs Tyrant, but the plan seems to be working.

Robirdo then decides to act on is foul mouth instead and calls Tyrant a poor excuse for a paperweight! That hurts the phantom, and he can't wait for his chance to smack that raw mouthed bird.

The phantom quits the passive approach, and now flings a blast of chilling wind at the avian. But Robirdo is fearless, and flaps incessantly. Blades of wind make their way through the relatively weak attack and strike that Keystone and the platform. Tyrant groans, angered this bird is surviving so well.

Robirdo gets in closer now, and begins drilling down on the phantom. But Tyrant had enough of being picked on. A second blast of chilling wind throws Robirdo back and leaves him to reevaluate his altitude. The avian flaps back up, feeling only slightly off. Damned ghost.

If he tries to drown out the sound of my taunts with Uproar, Imprison and push moves back.

If he tries to taunt me first, Uproar should get started faster than Roar, and considering he managed to roar faster than Shadow Sneak+Taunt, that should be fine. So, Uproar and push moves back.

So, Robirdo? For the first action, cover your ears with your wings and Relax. Then, use your Gust to blow his Will-O-Wisp right back at him, or at the very least away from yourself. Finally, let him Plot, and then...

Robirdo lands on its platform under its new instruction and takes a moment to tuck its head in and relax. As such, Tyrant's taunts about the link to steel birds and tall buildings fall on steel barriers and deaf ears.

Robirdo looks up after the slew of comments and lowers his wings. Tyrant glares at the phantom and watches as the fire that was brewing in Tyrant's may flies out. With one wing, he flaps forth. A gust of wind shoots in the way of the flames, throwing the Wisps left and right.

Still standing on the plate, Robirdo feels at home. Yeah, he could get used to this. Nice metallic saucer flying him around. No need to flap so much. Harkening rays of electric light giving his bowels a reason to open. Yeah. Not too shabby.

Robirdo shakes off that pain. Close, but no cigar. Even as Tyrant charged up quite a powerful blast, the avian managed to Roost. But there was a catch. Having roosted on the metallic disc, the Dark Pulse slammed into Robirdo hard enough to shove him over to one side, effectively making the disc flip and throw him off. But the disc held him pretty well. Yay for magnet discs!

Robirdo opened his wings, and mentally urges the disc forward, ready to seek some taunting revenge. Tyrant smirked, and yelled with all its might, further giving the bird reason to fly away, that sound was godawful annoying. But Robirdo's Taunt would go unheard, even though it waited, Tyrant just would NOT SHUT UP.

Darkly, how did Robirdo get 'thrown off' when we're battling in this arena?

Also... I hadn't thought anything was too far off before now, but I swear you've always had 20 EN as a cost for moves like roost. Tyrant has pressure, so Robirdo should have required more. Double-checking, some of Robirdo's moves may have been cheaper than they should have been. I may be wrong, but just wanted to check.

Oh no. I add the Pressure increase after I finish reffing, everything gets +2 added to it except for moves that are over 10EN, then that gets higher based on what the move does.

Ok. Tyrant used Uproar. Tyrant screamed/howled/whatevz. As some point, Tyrant's gotta stop to catch its undead air or whatever. Once it stops, its turn is over.

After Uproar=after third move=when Taunt was to be used. Robirdo used Taunt after Tyrant used Uproar. Tyrants uproar finished. Tyrant could then head the Taunt, since Uproar was no longer in effect.

Am I wrong for understanding it like this? I'll take any sound reasoning That's just how I saw it.

I thought "turn is over" was when both battlers end their turn. So, the only way that you could wait for the effects of uproar to be over is if you waited until the next turn. Essentially, using uproar is when you start making lots of noise, and you stop when you use a different move. If you keep using uproar, the effects don't stop and start all the time. It just pisses off the opposing pokemon.

Hrm. Fair enough :O. Uproar IS continuous, people just don't issue it to continue. Therefore Taunt would be nullified since Uproar would not stop. I will concede to logic and ..*poof edited* there.

Well I specifically stated for Robirdo to use Taunt AFTER your third move, no matter what. Inevitably, all moves end. Mega Punch ends once the punch is delivered. Swagger ends once the swaggering is done. Taunt ends after the taunt is declared/displayed. And Uproar ends after your Pokemon shuts up. If your Pokemon doesn't feel like shutting up as fast as, say, a punch can be delivered, that's fine with Robirdo. He is very patient.

o.o Ok. The bird still used Taunt. It came after Uproar. Uproar still drowned it out. You both make good points, and I'm sorry if I seem like I'm wavering, but this is one of those moves that needs better clarification.

I got a better idea now. Like when yer at a concert and yer in the effing woofer, and you step back and all you hear is that buzz. That's how Uproar works. Can't get the sound out of your or your opponents head, so it acts like a buffer toward sleep and sound based attacks.

If he does stuff to me (not including taunt): Protect ~ Rest ~ Relax
If he does stuff to himself: Snatch ~ Will-o-Wisp ~ Shock Wave
If he relaxes: Taunt ~ Rest ~ Relax
If he does something not covered by the above: Protect ~ Rest ~ Relax

Robirdo, make him waste his energy Protecting against your weakest attack: Use Fury Cutter, and make it as flimsy and energy-efficient as you possibly can.

Then, Taunt him with the last of your energy so he can't Rest OR Relax.

Finally, take some time to Relax yourself. You'll probably be out of energy by that point anyway and have to take a breather.

This fight won't end because of diplomatic supremacy issues. That mostly being Robirdo flying over and slashing at Tyrant, but not getting though because Tyrant enacts a shield. But even that drained him.

That's my new style of reffing, Blade. Since this is an older match, I'm still stuck with the older method of always gaining 20 EN back after you run out.

Robirdo glared predominately at the sleeping ghost, as it relaxed deeper into its dreams, having no energy to do anything else but enjoy the peace of sleep. Robirdo chirped and chippered comment after comment, but I think that Tyrant might just be in a deep enough sleep that it couldn't hear it.

Well then, dissastisfied with that, Robirdo went for plan B. Wings rubbed agaisnt each other at sharp angles, hurting the ears of anyone nearby. Tyrant hissed, but stayed asleep, Snoring as he slept. The sound buffeted lightly off of Robirdo's carapace.

When you wake up, Will-o-Wisp ~ Relax ~ Confuse Ray. Sub: If he tries to taunt you, Uproar and push moves back. Push moves back for sleeping as well (so you might get peace - will-o-wisp - relax)

Oh sweet ok he woke up! Tyrant yawns, and within that yawn shoots a firey mass! Robirdo is very aware of his situation and quickly flaps his wings while moving backwards. The Gust created does its job handily-forcing the Wisp back to its owner and giving Tyrant something to fuss about.
