    Oops, sorry about that. My brain turned off and I was reffing that as if Sol had 33 EP, not 18... 33 being the amount of energy he had at the start of Round 7. Fixed, and I'll ref this tonight-ish.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 9 ‡

    Though feeling reasonably healthful, poor Sol isn’t looking very sunny. It just barely musters up enough energy to plunge its lowermost stone sunbeam into the soil and send the earth shaking… once again. They’ll be feeling this in Pallet Town, guys; let’s not get Oak on our asses. In reply, Ti spews out a sticky glob of toxin that smacks Sol in the face. The Solrock begins looking a bit queasy.

    <Sol: -8 EP; Toxic Poisoning>
    <Ti: -12 HP; -5 EP>

    Clouds of dirt toss up into the air as Sol repeats its little Earthquake fun. As the dirt settles on Ti’s face, the little dino begins drawing some kind of immense energy from it and releases this in an energy blast, which hits its target for critical damage. Sol feels its Defence lowering as a consequence.

    <Sol: -7 HP; -8 EP; -1 Defence>
    <Ti: -12 HP; -6 EP>

    Again, the two adamant Rock-types face off with a couple of powerful moves. It's Earthquake against Earth Power and as the two moves collide a cloud of dirt suffuses the air around us. The trainers put their arms to their faces to screen out the dust particles and they squint through the settling debris to make out the outcome. As the dirt settles, the verdict is clear: Sol isn’t looking too pretty, but Ti is on her last legs.

    <Sol: -7 HP; -8 EP>
    <Ti: -12 HP; -6 EP>

    Sol’s face scrunches up as the toxin does what it does best. <-2 HP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡
    Sol's Reflect: 0.5 Rounds
    Gravity: 1.5 Rounds
    Note: At 0 EP, Pokemon will begin to lose 1 HP for every 2 EP they consume (Sol lost 12 HP due to fatigue this round)

    Oh, I think I accidentally omitted mention of that from my reffing. I rolled to see how long Sol would be asleep and and it woke up on the third turn, right before beginning its Earthquake assault.

    Heal Block will take at least 4 hp.

    So that leaves... 27

    I want you to Iron tail it till the end, using the lower pp move (Please say the +2 attack has its use)

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 10 ‡

    With each Pokemon bent over and wheezing like a, well, a Weezing, it doesn’t take a genius to know that whatever happens here will decide this matchup. Sol is the first to move, cloaking Ti in a translucent blue energy curtain which prevents healing. Ti shrugs this off and stampedes forward, her tail glowing silver. Sol is smart enough to hide behind its remaining Reflect, but what with Ti’s boosted attack and Sol’s flagging defence, the Iron Tail still smarts.

    <Sol: -9 HP; -8 EP>
    <Ti: -4 EP; Heal Blocked>

    As Ti charges up a second Iron Tail, Sol’s Reflect flickers out. Uh-oh. The Meteorite Pokemon watches its foe running forward and intercepts the move by… lying down! While Sol gets a little R&R, the super-effective Iron Tail slashes into its side and depletes the last of its hit points.

    <Sol: -18 HP; +6 EP>
    <Ti: -4 EP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

    Ti, you've done me proud when you were disadvantaged ^_^

    Lets stop this bug with all you've got little guy!

    Combine a Rock Polish to boost speed, with an Iron Tail and a Take Down.

    If it protects round 1 and is going to double team round 2, then relax round 1, shock wave round 2 after double team and then Iron Tail.
    If it protects round 1 but doesn't double team round 2, simply fire the combo round 2 rather than round 1. DO NOT COUNT THIS AS A RELAX ROUND 1!
    If it double teams round 1 and protects round 2, then shock wave round 1 after double team, then relax round 2, then Iron Tail
    If it double teams round 1 but doesn't protect round 2, then shock wave round 1 after the double team, then Rock Polish + Iron Tail.

    Bah, that should at least be coherent. If not a bit wordy.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 11 ‡

    As C-Dub recalls his Solrock, he sends out a Heracross named Chitin, which, according to Wikipedia, is long-chain polymer of a N-acetylglucosamine, a derivative of glucose, and is found—okay, interest lost. Shimmering as though coated with polish, Ti lunges at her foe and slams her entire body against Chitin’s formidable carapace.

    And before Chitin can so much as lift a finger, Ti collapses from exhaustion. Buh-bye.

    <Chitin: -10 HP>
    <Ti: -8 EP; +2 Speed>

    Alrighty, fixed. My bad. Keep in mind that the move is severely weakened due to Ti not having the EP/HP to execute that kind of maneuver perfectly. As well, can you just make sure you end your commands with "Attack ~ Attack ~ Attack" afterward to avoid ambiguity?

    OK Gulliver, we got this bug sorted.

    I want you to start off with a Double Team to dodge the next spree of attacks.

    Next, I want you to blast him with a SKY ATTACK!
    If you ref sky attack as a 2 turn move, thats it obvously.
    If not, finish of with a Toxic

    Double Team ~ Sky attack ~ Sky attack finish / Toxic

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 12 ‡

    The two new competitors flex their arms and/or wings eagerly as the round begins. Chitin is the first to strike and drops to the ground to bang off a few push-ups. As the shiny beetle receives its stat boosts, Gulliver shrieks derisively while a series of clones splits from her body. Three on one? This doesn’t look fair…

    <Chitin: -2 EP; +0.5 Att; +0.5 Def>
    <Gulliver: -4 EP; +3 clones>

    The Rattatas scurrying around us suddenly halt, whiskers twitching and ears perking up attentively. At once, the little rodents scurry away. It’s almost as if they sense something com—

    And suddenly, an incredible barrage of rocks come sailing down from the heavens! The trainers take cover as the falling boulders collide with the field, spraying millions of tiny flecks of flint that slice in every direction. When the dust settles, it becomes apparent that the clones have been obliterated from the assault. Chitin seems alright and dusts himself off proudly.

    But what of Gulliver? A weary squawk comes from a nearby pile of rocks (a tomb, if you will) and it becomes apparent that the Pelipper has been trapped. Without warning, beams of white light begin to shine through the cracks in the tomb. What’s Gulliver doing in there?

    <Chitin: -10 EP>
    <Gulliver: -22 HP; 0 clones>

    The answer comes quickly. With a momentous crash, a blurry shape smashes through the encasement of boulders. It darts skyward and flies around in the air haphazardly before screaming down toward earth with its eyes set on Chitin. The Heracross tries to make an escape, but the powerful Sky Attack strikes him in the gut and sends him tumbling backward.

    <Chitin: -21 HP>
    <Gulliver: -12 EP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡
    Note: This round was a little bit weird to ref. I've seen some folks ref Rock Slide as thrown rocks and others as boulders descending from the sky. I think I prefer the latter. But yeah, flecks of breaking rocks spraying everywhere = bye-bye clones. I hope nobody's sensibilities are offended by this choice. And as a random aside, the damage calcs look weirdly high to me, but considering there's a x2 weakness to Rock and a x4 weakness to Flying, I guess it makes sense...
    Other Note: At 0 EP, Pokemon will begin to lose 1 HP for every 2 EP they consume

    Lets try this again gulliver, I REFUSE TO LOSE TO SOMETHING WE HAVE AN ADVANTAGE OVER!

    I want you to start of with a Rain Dance. If he is going to change the weather this round, wait for him to do so then Attract.
    Follow up by quickly Toxicing him. If he if going to protect, start of part 1 of the sky attack instead.

    Finish of by either finishing off the sky attack, or use Aerial Ace.

    Rain Dance / Attract ~ Toxic / Sky attack I ~ Aerial Ace / Sky Attack II

    Also, Oslo, how do ya ref stat boosts? Just so I know.

    A Pokemon with +1 Att or SpA would deal an additional 2 HP of damage. A Pokemon with +1 Def or SpD would take 2 HP less damage than they otherwise would.

    Because Chitin has +0.5 Att/Def (which is how I chose to interpret the Movelist's description of Bulk Up), his physical attacks will do an extra 1 HP of damage while Physical attacks used against him will deal 1 HP less than normal.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 13 ‡

    Upon his trainer’s command, Chitin begins spinning circles with his arms flailing every which way. Though his dance perhaps looks a little silly, he begins to somehow look stronger as a result. Gulliver disregards what the Heracross is doing and instead turns her head skyward to let out an echoing squawk. The clouds answer her call and unleash a deluge of raindrops that douses the field.

    <Chitin: -4 EP; +3 clones; +2 Att>
    <Gulliver: -3 EP>

    With rain soaking everything (including this ref; thanks, guys ) Chitin realizes he needs to step up his game against the birdie before it can spray out some Water-type moves. His carapace adopts a grey-ish sheen, almost as if coated in stone, and he tackles Gulliver for some impressive damage. In response, Gulliver hacks up some Toxic gunk from the back of her throat and spits it at Chitin. The goo hits the beetle’s face and he staggers backward, rubbing at his eyes. Poor guy.

    <Chitin: -8 EP; Toxic Poisoning>
    <Gulliver: -16 HP; -4 EP>

    Feeling suddenly ill, Chitin opts for a Double Team. The rain makes quick work of these little doppelgangers, however, and destroys them as soon as they can come into existence. It’s just as well, perhaps, as Gulliver careens toward her foe with a super-accurate Aerial Ace which slices down Chitin. It’s getting exciting, guys…

    <Chitin: -7 HP; -4 EP>
    <Gulliver: -4 EP>

    Chitin's face scrunches up as the toxin does what it does best. <-2 HP>

    Alright, lets get serious!

    Gulliver, Start of by dodging facade with an aerial ace, knocking it as hard as you can whilt flying up as far as you can. Make flying as high as you can the priority.

    Wait until the stone edge, which you should be out of the way of, and then combine Hydro Pump with an ominous wind from the skys, making hydro pump be blasted faster.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 14 ‡

    Still staggering a bit from the Toxic poisoning, Chitin seems to pull it together for one Façade. He lumbers forth but Gulliver, it seems, is just too speedy. With a rapid Aerial Ace, she manages to evade the attack and strike Chittin. With a couple of powerful beats from her mighty golden wings, she takes off for the air. Freedom!

    <Chitin: -7 HP; -4 EP>
    <Gulliver: -4 EP>

    Grr, what is a little Heracross to do when his target is airborne? Well, how about… use his own wings? Chitin raises his elytra to let his own transparent wings beat rapidly against his back, and soon he, too, is airborne. Shining grey, he strikes Gulliver with a powerful Stone Edge. Not expecting that, Gulliver stares, momentarily stupefied, before responding with a powerful Hydro Pump. A creepy wind whistles through the leaves and boughs, providing added momentum to the burst of water. If that’s not enough, the falling rain (somehow) lends the move a little extra bite.

    <Chitin: -19 HP; -8 EP>
    <Gulliver: -14 HP; -12 EP>

    After that doozey of a move, Chitin returns to the ground. His body shimmers as though metallic and he feels mightier as a result.

    <Chitin: -4 EP; +2 Def>

    Chitin's face scrunches up as the toxin does what it does best. <-4 HP>

    DQ Time: A week

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 15 ‡

    Mildly disgruntled at this point, Chitin takes a leaf from Gulliver’s book and again takes flight. With a couple of artful spins through the air, the Heracross uses a rapid aerial maneuver to evade the massive surge of water that comes barreling his way. After successfully evading the Hydro Pump, Chitin slams into Gulliver. The Pelipper, starting to feel more and more like a tenderized hunk of poultry by the minute, lets out a squawk of pain.

    <Chitin: -4 EP>
    <Gulliver: -7 HP; -9 EP>

    Now on the defensive, Chitin once again settles down and gives the whole Double Team thing another go. Clones start to split into a series of clones, but, just like last time, the raindrops cut through them before they can come into existence. Aww, tough luck. Recognizing her foe’s weakness, Gulliver commands another spooky wind to come whispering across the pitch. The Heracross goes tumbling away in the wind.

    <Chitin: -8 HP; -4 EP>
    <Gulliver: -5 EP>

    Once the wind dies down, Chitin pulls himself to his feet. Though battered and beleaguered, this little bug(ger) just isn’t ready to hand over the victory that easily! His carapace becomes rock-solid once again and he dive-tackles Gulliver. The big-mouthed birdie fights off Chitin with another massive surge of water that launches the Single Horn Pokemon into the trunk of a tree. Ouchies.

    <Chitin: -11 HP; -8 EP>
    <Gulliver: -16 HP; -9 EP>

    A hopeful silence fills the arena as the rain lets up at last. Chitin’s face scrunches up as the toxin does what it does best. <-6 HP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡
    Note: I didn't mention this last time because Toxic didn't have a chance to progress so far, but I refer the move so that it deals damage which increases by 2 HP each round.
    Other Note: At 0 EP, Pokemon will begin to lose 1 HP for every 2 EP they consume

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 16 ‡

    As we enter the sixteenth round of this little skirmish, Chitin decides he’s simply had too much and stretches his arms to the sky before curling up on the muddy ground and taking a nap. While he clocks a bit of sleep, Gulliver decides to keep things simple as well and soaks up a bit of energy. *yawn* What a positively scintillating exchange of moves…

    <Chitin: +40 HP; -25 EP>
    <Gulliver: -4 EP; Stockpile 1>

    Still asleep, Chitin somehow jumps to his feet like a charmed puppet. It erects a translucent Protective barrier to ward off any incoming moves, but Gulliver pays this no regard and cloaks itself in a harsh light. Live and let live.

    <Chitin: -8 EP>

    Once it finishes charging, Gulliver lunges skyward in a rapid blur. It circles over the battlefield before arcing back toward the ground like a screaming bullet toward Chitin. The move connects and—and sweet Jesus, but it looks as though Chitin has caught the birdie with its horn! With a powerful thrust, Chitin Counters the Sky Attack and hurls Pelipper into a tree. This birdie is donezo.

    <Gulliver: -21 HP; -12 EP>
    <Chitin: -17 HP; -7 EP>

    Chitin’s face scrunches up as the toxin does what it does best. <-8 HP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡
    Note: Revised.
    Other Note: At 0 EP, Pokemon will begin to lose 1 HP for every 2 EP they consume (Chitin lost 2 HP this round due to fatigue)

    Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. How do I get that luck? Also, Counter doesn't do neeearly that much, particulary with a stockpiled up defense, and the fact that Counter is not simply double damage. Also, A fighting type move

    'Counter: - FGT -The user shimmers and glows, and physical attacks are redirected back toward their source. The user of Counter still suffers some damage and fatigue from the strain of countering incoming attacks, although typically less than it would have had it not Countered. The redirected attack is of the Fighting element, the power is increased, and always has good accuracy and does not take any time to charge.
    Fatigue: Moderate
    Accuracy: Excellent
    Other: Physical'

    So counter only return blasts based on natural power, and it can most certainitely be weaker than the original blow. If we increase power, it should still be weaker due to the fighting type element.

    (Sorry about rant, just I did just lose a mon on very VERY bad luck, and I do always accept that people may rant at me)

    Anyway, in the case where I'm mistaken, I'm releasing Ectabat and having it Agility + Aerial Ace + Swords Dance in a frantic combo.

    Haha, okay, I did a search to look at how a few other refs handle Counter. In the end, I weakened the power of Chitin's move considerably. I decided that reffing Counter so that it deals 125% of the original move's power (as opposed to 200%) is fair. And DF, like you said, the move would usually be weaker due to Gulliver's resistance to Fighting-type moves and her (minor) Stockpile Defence boost; however, Chitin's strengthened attack negates those factors.

    I hope that works for everyone and just chalk my blunder up to the learning curve. Sorry about that! Anyway, the post has been revised and it's your turn to select Gulliver's moves, DF. Cheers!

    Alright then, here we go again.

    This time use Snore, to assure you do damage, and you should be able to hit him first, if Rock Tomb is still in effect. If it misses or doesn't KO him, use Relax, then Sleep Talk.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 17 ‡

    With an obnoxious burst of noise, Chitin lets loose a raucous Snore which slams into Gulliver. Y’know, they have nasal strips you can buy for that kind of thing…

    And after a valiant effort, the Pelipper falls to the ground, defeated. (And I mean really defeated, not fake-defeated like last time.) Yes, folks. Death by snoring.

    <Chitin: -4 EP>
    <Gulliver: -8 HP>

    Chitin’s face scrunches up as the toxin does what it does best. <-10 HP> Just like his foe before him, Chitin too falls to the ground in defeat.

    I flipped a coin and, as a result, Team Dogfish44 will release next
