Nepence and Ayeun are my favourite rivalry because, even though they're friends, there really is genuine friction between them. It makes their battles, with all the ensuing banter, fun to watch and ref.

I use veekun. Lists all the gens at once. But yeah, I just didn't notice Pain Split. Used to it being a ghost thing, probably.

Edit: Doesn't help that, for most of my time here, there were all of 10 pokemon that could use it. It only became widespread in HG/SS, and I believe I zoned out of ASB by then.

1) Allow repeaters (unless your dude is only capable of beating someone once)
2) Reduce the size (instead of 20 people, something like 5-10)

Well, that is a possibility. If I do, I don't know if Magic Coat will be my TM or not...it could also be Sucker Punch (if it's possible, we should get some new gym leaders anyway if we get more people coming (or coming back).

The real reason why I asked about Magic Coat though has to do with Blademaster's All-Comer's challenge...somehow Rawk Hawk (his Blaziken) learned Magic Coat, and I saw it reffed successfully with my own two eyes, which confuses me...how can a move that a Pokemon cannot learn (and hasn't been tutored to them) end up working according to the ref? That makes absolutely no sense (sorry if this offends you, Blademaster (I had absolutely no intention of it), but I didn't want to bring this up in the first place; when I see something that looks like it made sense to someone else, but not to me, it's extremely hard to resist bringing it up).

Ooh, I believe I have an answer. I never reffed the battle you're referencing, but I remember when I was first starting out as a ref I spotted a few inconsistencies on Bulbapedia concerning Magic Coat. There were a few Fighting-type Pokemon (Primeape, Machamp, Blaziken and Infernape, iirc) that had Magic Coat listed among their learnable moves. However, on the Magic Coat page, these Pokemon weren't listed among the Pokemon that could learn Magic Coat. After a while, the Fighting-type Pokemon had their learnable moves edited and Magic Coat was removed, so it makes me think it was simply incorrect information provided by an editor, which is to be expected given the fact that Bulbapedia is a wiki. Whoever reffed the battle probably saw Magic Coat on Blaziken's Bulbapedia page and didn't think anything of it.

Ay, Oslo, BTPoke, DL, and Greyfox are all around. CEB, Cynder and Wolfsong are not. I'm all for replacing those 3.

Alternatively... due to the current... size issues... maybe knock out CEB, Cynder and Wolfsong, have the other 5 do a round-robin tourney, whoever loses the most is kicked out, and we cut down to 4 gyms, with 2 badges required to get recognition. (Instead of 8 gyms, 4 badges)
