Sharing a few things on my mind this evening

Hey Pokémasters

I'm just going to start typing, and i'm not sure if what i'm going to say will resonate with anyone, but stick with me, and let us find out together!

Its been a little while since I posted anything here, and i'm sure that is the case for the vast majority of members. That being said, how awesome is it that a forum and website, which has been through so much, and was almost lost to time on several occasions, continues to exist? How incredible that the history, culture, and memories of individuals from long ago, still exist here today? Many of them were children when they created their accounts and posted here, and its likely by now many of them will have some significant life experience. Perhaps they have families and children of their own? How many of them will give a passing thought to The Pokémasters and browse, to discover that this communtiy is still around? I wonder if they'll read this message?

I also wonder how many of them are still with us. Did something bad happen in their lives that lead them down a dark path? Are they doing ok? Its sad to think that we may never truly know what happened to the people who one day, decided not to post anymore, for reasons we will never have the privieledge to know. This kind of thought is something that I imagine could be overlooked when there are hundreds, if not thousands of users here. That being said, while this forum exists, a part of their history exists here too.

We may never know when our last post here will be, we may not know what is happening in people's lives. I hope that more users from the past will see this message, and make every attempt they can to reach us and say hello. For those of us lucky to be here, reading and posting messages, it truly is a priviledge to contribute to the history of this great forum, and the long history this website has.

Thank you, to everyone who continue to do their best in keeping this torch lit, and keeping the memory of The Pokémasters alive!

Thanks for posting this!!I know for some reason, TPM's forums are rarely loading now, it seems like I'm only able to get the forums to load once every several days, outside of that I just get an error message... But yeah, I wonder a lot about the people that used to be here, the ones that were such a huge part of the forums, and the ones that I used to talk to all the time. I wonder if they are ok and what they are doing, and it they still think about this place anymore. I hope that these forums will always be around, I do wonder though every time I get the error message and can't get the site to load. I too am surprised that more old members don't drop in from time to time. But this place will always be special to me, and still the only place online that really feels like home. It's a huge part of me... It's crazy to think that I've almost been registered here for 24 years now, and there are still posts dating back to my late childhood... I would love to jump back in time and even if I could spend a day back in the early TPM days... but yeah, I hope that they are all well and living an amazing life, and would love to see the older members dropping in from time to time!!

On a side note, I still don't really understand why online forums just aren't that popular anymore... even Bulbagarden and Serebii are far quieter than they used to be... in my opinion anyways, message boards are still the cleanest format around, and far easier to navigate than other forms of social media.

I've been having the same issue trying to get onto the site as well. I'm glad it's not just me having this issue.

I think part of the problem regarding message boards, was the creation of Reddit. Reddit is basically a one stop site for all topics of interest, so individual fan boards aren't really necessary. Additionally, thanks to Youtube, younger people would rather listen to others talk about stuff than talk about those things themselves with other people.

Reddit may be a one stop website for all sorts of things, but for one of the things I've been into for several years (a little thing called Super Mario World hacking; where I'm aiming to make my own levels), you can't really find stuff for that kind of thing on Reddit.

So yeah, I hate to say it guys, but with TPM on a steady decline, I may end up slowly phasing more toward this forum I'm on whose main focus is SMW hacking, and there are MANY more people there, so it's quite an active scene.

I'm still alive and well despite my best efforts. Got a whole family to look after now. I basically no longer use social media but this place will always hold a special place in my heart.

Sadly I found out a friend I made on here passed away through Facebook many years ago. I hope everyone else is doing well.

I do occasionally come back here, although I am finding I get errors when trying to access this site like 60% of the time. I imagine one day this place will eventually drop off the internet. Do we have a Plan B if we all wanna catch up again, or do we just all get on with our lives?

Unfortunately Christen, my interest in Pokemon Hangman is pretty much gone (Gabi, Fett One, Mikachu; this was a decision I didn't want to make, but sadly for me, sometimes you just don't retain the same interests or you get strongly pulled in a different direction altogether. I think it was more the latter in my case, so as much as it pains me to say this, I'm not gonna play it any more. I have so many great memories of Pokemon Hangman and other parts of TPM (I certainly can't forget the games I personally created for GGG, including Pokemon BrainStrain, aka Pokemon Hangman's "fraternal" twin), though as I said, the other forum has been calling my name more than TPM. I've been on it since August of 2007 (it's called SMWCentral; if any of you guys decide to check it out, rest assured, I have the same username there as I do here).

TPM more closely resembles a retirement village nowadays, where the elderly residents have run out of new things to say.

I'm mostly still here because it gives me some kind of morbid power trip. I'm not a well man.

Yep, I totally understand that interests change and stuff. I’m really happy for you that you found a forum that has a lot of stuff that you are interested in. And I hope that you still come around and drop in every once in awhile even if you aren’t doing Hangman anymore!!

I'm still here, and I WILL be. I do have some plans for TPM in the future, and I hope my contribution will provide this forum with some life at least.

Seeing Knight of Time's reply, I must say I'm going to miss you, and in fact, I hope you change your mind. Hangman and Twisted Wishes won't be the same without you. And you should also take into account you still have the mod position.
