Mystery Gift Help

I'm having terrible trouble trying to get the downloadable Genesect from the Mystery Gift feature.

My 3DS can access the internet at Starbucks, and it can connect to its WiFi easily in the settings. But every time I try to use the Mystery Gift, it can't connect.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Which option are you selecting? You need to pick Nintendo WFC rather than wireless. That's the mistake I always make...

I'm confused? Do you always post from starbucks? It might be their settings, do it at home instead?

Don't worry, Chibi, I solved the problem.

Ever hear of a term called Occum's Razor? I thought it was a complicated problem when it was actually a simple one. Starbucks was crowded and had a weak signal.

I just went to the AT&T store, which had a much stronger signal, and did it with no problem.

Btw, I have no WiFi connection at home. I have a desktop with Broadband.
