Well, the damage and energy calculations were done quite decently, no major mistakes, although Avalanche didn't do as much as I expected (supereffectiveness, Ore got hit first, and boosted attack stat), but besides that nothing big.
I would like to see some more flavor text, though. The reffing itself was ok, but not very amusing to read. I'm sure you can use some of that Mt.Moon postingstyle for your reffings, Ayeun.
Nonetheless approved as a rookie-ref!
Thanks MLG...
is 15hp not enough for a Super effective avalanche after an attack... I though it was roughly balanced?

We begin with Kicker moving into range of Death. She watches him then cries out in surprise when Kicker suddenly rolls around her then lashes out with a foot, kicking her in the back. Death is knocked forwards and she hits the floor. She gets back up and uses the POWAH OFF POSEIDON to unleash a bubbly wave of doom on Kicker...pity it was a clone.

Now Kicker goes for a different approach. He sets his foot on fire and then kicks at Death. Death recoils slightly then blinks twice. She wasn't really hurt at all. Doesn't that thing know about type weaknesses? She shrugs, then explodes into a cloud of sand. Kicker is taken aback slightly and watches the sand rip apart his clones. He also couldn't see Death in this weather, but Death could see him.

Kicker looks around, trying to see Death. That thing doesn't have Sand Veil dammit. He sees a figure in the sand and goes for it, running with all of his might, he leaps up and kicks down, fists ready as well. His attack hits Death, who cries out. She cringes from the blows that are dealt to her, but is secretly preparing her next attack. Though it still bloody hurts. Kicker stops to take a breather and is blasted, up front, with a powerful blast of wind. Kicker cries out and is thrown back, landing hard. The sand also scrapes against him. ‡ Pre-Round ‡
‡ Round ??? ‡
Good day, ladies and gents! We find ourselves perched upon a mountaintop as we observe a battle in progress between Kung-Fu Katy’s wily Hitmonlee and Ninja Charles’s erroneously-named Kabutop. The air is cool, the combatants are limber and the preamble is bland/mildly irritating. Folks, let’s get this show on the road!
Kicker and his band of merry clones prepare to lead off, but a swell of hail hampers their plan. As the wee specks of ice tear through the clones, Kicker finds himself a little on the lonely side all of a sudden. Still, the wily Hitmonlee chooses to persevere as he tucks himself into a tidy little roll (those years of gymnastics paid off!) and manages to eek past his foe’s defences to land a powerful kick. Though Kicker looks for vulnerable places on Six-legged Death’s body to target, the Kabutops’s impenetrable Battle Armour makes this effort futile. Six-legged Death grunts nonetheless. Retaliating, she commands a Brine and… uh, wait? We’re on a mountaintop… where’s the water gonna come from? Better question: What’s that rumbling sou—
Suddenly, age-old geysers beneath the earth awaken and fire a streak of foamy water straight into the air! Egads! Kicker is launched skyward by the cascade and lands on the ground with a not-so-pleasant-sounding thud.
Kicker: <-9 HP; -6 EP; -3 clones>
SLD: <-12 HP; -6 EP>
Pulling himself to his feet, Kicker doesn’t seem ready to relent. It’s on! Foot blazing, Kicker sprints toward his foe and lands a fiery Chuck Norris-style kick, though the move seems to leave Six-legged Death relatively unfazed. Laaame. The Kabutops raises her twin sickles skyward and commands tiny motes of sand to come surging forth. The hail and sand make a curious but potent combo as they swirl around the battle.
Kicker: <-5 EP>
SLD: <-1 HP; -4 EP>
With sand and hail obscuring his vision, Kicker, unsure where his foe might be, creeps forward. Suddenly, he stubs his toe on what he believes to be a primordial sickled mollusk thing but is really just a pile of rocks. Blindness sucks, eh? As he cluelessly pummels the bajeebuz out of those rocks, Six-legged Death snickers as she swings her twin sickles with vigour. Concentrated blades of air slice their way toward Kicker and throw the Kabutops straight into the side of the mountain. Ouchies.
Kicker: <-10 HP; -11 EP; -1 Def; -1 SpD>
SLD: <-8 EP>
Sharp pieces of hail and great clouds of sand gust through the air.

And so another round of action begins as this ref stands in the radiant heat of his Houndoom as in front of him, a Kung Fu Girl named Katy and her Hitmonlee are taking on a Ninja named Charles and his Kabutops, the trainers issue their next set of commands, and the fight continues!
Unfortunately for Kicker, the pellets of hail bombard his clones, causing them to dissipate and the real Hitmonlee is revealed! Six-Legged death looks watches as the clones dissipate, and then turns back to Kicker, only to notice that Kicker is suddenly right in front of her in a ball, which proceeds to jump into the air and a foot smashes down on Six-Legged Deaths head. She takes some damage, but avoids anything critical due to her ability. Shrugging off the hit, her eyes start to glow as the moisture and water from all the dropping hail, as well as some summoned water creates a massive wave that smashes into the Hitmonlee, sending it rolling on the ground in the opposite direction!
Kicker: -10 HP, -5 EN/ -6 HP, -7 EN ix-Legged Death
Reeling from the last hit, Kicker runs forth again and jumps into the air, revolves once and extends his leg, which glows a slightly reddish color and lands on the Kabutops, but once again, Six-Legged Death seems to shrug this one off as well....as it was fire energy! She kicks up a melee of sand and dirt to join the already massive barrage of Ice.
Kicker: -0 HP, -6 EN/ -4 HP, -4 EN ix-Legged Death
Not entirely enjoying how this is going, Kicker gets up close and shows off his Taijutsu! Kicks land all around the Kabutops who has gone into a defensive stance....or has she? Suddenly, she unleashes a burst of slicing wind, greatly damaging the Hitmonlee and sending him flying. As the round comes to a close, the combination of the elements assaults the two pokemon, Hitmonlee moreso as Kabutops doesnt feel the sand!

OilSpill Contest: Round X
Arena:A small tar pit? Upon which planks of wood are situated for the Pokemon to stand.
Contestants:
Environmentalist Blade and FlipFlop (M)
"Heh! Ok Flipflop. First, Double Team so you are a school of fish. Then Water Pulse upward and jump through the rings, and thenfall into the tar! End with Flail to show your frustration at bp"
~*~
Bp Bigwig Elf and Coverup (M)
"Hey hey hey! Get my oil back!Haze to cover this up as fast as possible. Throw them of the trail with a bunch of shiny glittery Icy Wind pieces that shine, and then Confuse Ray them if they ask too many questions!!"
~*~
Geologist Denz and Sloth(F)
"Well see, this will start to make the land sag! We gotta help. Sloth, Fissure to make a ditch! As it fills, Stealth Rock to close the hole and end with Rock Smash to hide it all!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Appeals!
Environmentalist Blade and FlipFlop (M)
Contestant Blade approaches the stage and sends forth his Lumineon flopping onto one of the planks. The Judge watches as the fish begins to glow and split into 5 Lumineons on the nearby planks. The five fish then shoot up pulsating rings of water into the air and flop into the air through the rings beautifully before landing in the tar, stuck! It then begins to flail about violently trying to break free of the tar, and as the clones dissapear, Flipflop breaks free and lands gracefully on the plank. The audience breaks into mad applause as the next contestant approaches.
~*~
Bp Bigwig Elf and Coverup (M)
The Bp Bigwig walks forward and sends forth his Murkrow onto the planks. The Murkrow opens his mouth and issues an icy haze over the field, obscuring the view. Suddenly, an icy breeze circulates through the crows and the cloud begins to glitter, until it dissipates and we see Murkrow once again, who then proceeds to issue a blinding ray, making the audience cover their eyes and gasp as the appeal comes to a close.
~*~
Geologist Denz and Sloth(F)
Geologist Denz approaches the field and the stunned crowd and sends forth his Shieldon, Sloth. The Shieldon jumps to the edge of the arena and strikes down with a massive force, causing a crack to appear in middle of the arena, the tar slowly moving to fill it and the planks moving as well. So Shieldon then moves around and starts tossing the planks to create a sort of bridge over the crack. Standing on the now empty pit, she hops over and begins smashing each of the planks, filling the crevice with the wood and completely filling the crack with a mulchlike substance. The crowd seems pleased!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Points:
Environmentalist Blade and FlipFlop (M)
Lumineon was an odd choice for this stage. Double team is generally a quick move and doesnt provide too much appeal, but the collection of aqua rings and the dive was very pretty. The flailing about really made me think about a fish out of water, but the ending was nice, though I wasnt sure whether you wanted the clones to survive or showcase the power of the real one.
7.5 out of 10
~*~
Bp Bigwig Elf and Coverup (M)
The blackbird with the black tar seemed appropriate, but the icy haze the issued from it was very nice when it began to sparkle, but too bad the haze dissipated. The confuse ray added a nice shocking sparkle, and left the audience, and myself, speechless.
7 out of 10
~*~
Geologist Denz and Sloth(F)
A spectacular appeal. You greatly showcased Shieldon with the fissure and used the planks to great effect! You know how to showcase your pokemon, and completely eliminated the tar!
9.5 out of 10
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Results:
Denz and Sloth: 9.5
Blade and Flipflop: 7.5
Elf and Coverup: 7
Elf is eliminated and Denz will face Blade in the final battle! Denz will send out first, Blade will attack first!
I hopped over here for Muggles
Note: When doing a Mock Reffing, remember that its not just about the stat calculation-or what the person did before you,. You might come out with the same result, but you can definitely get there in different ways. We are looking for ingenuity and creativity alongside brevity and damage calculation.
That being said
Rossy: Yer at Expert level right. Yet, you missed a key element in the reffing-which I knew was going to be overlooked cause I'm evil like that.
How're there clones there if there's a hailstorm? AAAAAKa. AAAAAKA. But you've been reffing consistently for over 6 months. I'm on the fence, so we'll let Muggles look it over as well. My answer is I'm not sure where you could improve-because it feels like something is off...just something small.
Oslo: I'm not sure what level you are, but I'm pretty sure we can move you up once more. However, the one thing I want to point out for you as well was the weather aspect.
I know the instructions said Hail falls constantly, but that means when you change the weather, the hail will be replaced-until the other weather pattern changes, at which point it will return. That however was a subjective decision on your part that you included in your reffing. I made sure to not hold that against you (or anyone else..as that was not stated clearly). I say you can move up a stage, no problem. Intermediate easy. Hell you shoulda been moved up a while ago, now that I think about it...
Green Lanturn: The same goes for you. Your reffing style is solid enough. You intrepreted enough elements of the battle to be consistent, and wtf everyone is using these badass Kabutops sprites.. I say yes to you being a Rookie Ref. Mlg can come in and bump you higher via this reffing if he feels its ok.
Spade: Here's the catch-Double Team. The Hail and the Sandstorm each would have dispelled of the clones, since the clones are not solid. I would have promoted you if you had just forgotten about the hail-but you also had the Sandstorm active, and yet the clones were still existing. So I'm gonna keep you at Rookie for now.
But don't think we haven't been seeing your reffing greatly improve over these last few months. The new Mock will be up soon, so please try. I'm definitely sure you will make it.
Zergling2005: Man I like your style, and yeah that formatting is not fun. That's all kids of crazyness. Your damage and your stats are great-and you got most every element of trickery I had in the match. I'll gladly start you at Rookie-only since you've just become a member, and we wanna see you do a bunch of situations before we toss you higher.
Alright. That's that from me!
If the hailstorm got rid of all the clones...why did Kicker have the clones to begin with? I therefore concluded that the hail had no effect on the clones, yet the Sandstorm did.
So if anything is at fault for the clones, it is the creator of the Mock Reffing for allowing the clones to be there in the first place.
Rossy:
Clones were there to make you observant :O Despite the nuances of the stage-we should all be able to discern anomalies and remove them as we go along. Mock Reffings may defy logic at times, but they're good practice to point out these things, as you did just now... I'm not fully nuts yet 6_9
Aaaah, I see the logic here. Very well then, the person doing the Mock Reffing is very clever in catching out the less observant refs.
Things get ugly pretty damn quick. Kicker immediately starts bounding towards Six Legged Death, along with his three clones, as he starts gathering energy only to release a powerful Brine right at the three Kciking machine, what should have hit them missed, because they rolled that kick right over the water and smack into Six Leg. Kicker still managed to have one clone after that.
That went extremely well for Kicker, and decided he wanted to keep it up. Both his foot and the clones foot started to radiate with flames, but as he was trying to persue his kick onto the fossil pokemon, the fire on his foot was put out and clone was destroyed as a Sandstorm sudenly covers the field! Now that there is Sand and Hail everywhere, it really puts a damper on things. put a damper on things. Six Legs snickers at his feeble attempt.
With both pokemon trying to finish up, they both prepare their next attacks. Kicker gpursue Six Legs for another powerful close range attack, as Six Legs, gathers cold, piercing wind only to shoot a narrow,sharp, and sandy blast of air right for Kick. Alright. That is IT. Kick charges straight at the fossil and unleashes very powerful, and very critical blows stright onto Six Leg. Ouch. Kick let his gaurd downa little after that.
First of all, I'm sorry for delaying this. I totally forgot, then went on a camp or two for job/fun and now I have time to finally read all of your mockings. I'm gonna follow up through DL's previous remarks.
Rossy: Yer at Expert level right. Yet, you missed a key element in the reffing-which I knew was going to be overlooked cause I'm evil like that.
How're there clones there if there's a hailstorm? AAAAAKa. AAAAAKA. But you've been reffing consistently for over 6 months. I'm on the fence, so we'll let Muggles look it over as well. My answer is I'm not sure where you could improve-because it feels like something is off...just something small.
Yeah, you're a dependable ref, with an own style and I like it, but this mock-ref was not your 'best' work. I wouldn't be happy promoting you now, since I know you can do better. Next time, be sure to come back here and kick our ass.
Oslo: I'm not sure what level you are, but I'm pretty sure we can move you up once more. However, the one thing I want to point out for you as well was the weather aspect.
I know the instructions said Hail falls constantly, but that means when you change the weather, the hail will be replaced-until the other weather pattern changes, at which point it will return. That however was a subjective decision on your part that you included in your reffing. I made sure to not hold that against you (or anyone else..as that was not stated clearly). I say you can move up a stage, no problem. Intermediate easy. Hell you shoulda been moved up a while ago, now that I think about it... Yeah, no doubt about this. You got promoted on the spot.
Green Lanturn: The same goes for you. Your reffing style is solid enough. You intrepreted enough elements of the battle to be consistent, and wtf everyone is using these badass Kabutops sprites.. I say yes to you being a Rookie Ref. Mlg can come in and bump you higher via this reffing if he feels its ok. I was seriously considering putting you at intermediate first, but now I've decided that I wanna see you grow more first. I was very pleased with your reffing, so be sure to come back next time!
Spade: Here's the catch-Double Team. The Hail and the Sandstorm each would have dispelled of the clones, since the clones are not solid. I would have promoted you if you had just forgotten about the hail-but you also had the Sandstorm active, and yet the clones were still existing. So I'm gonna keep you at Rookie for now.
But don't think we haven't been seeing your reffing greatly improve over these last few months. The new Mock will be up soon, so please try. I'm definitely sure you will make it. Agreeing with Darkly here. You've reffed a good deal of matches already and your greatly improving, but the flaw displayed here was a bit too much for a promotion right now. Try again next time!
Zergling2005: Man I like your style, and yeah that formatting is not fun. That's all kids of crazyness. Your damage and your stats are great-and you got most every element of trickery I had in the match. I'll gladly start you at Rookie-only since you've just become a member, and we wanna see you do a bunch of situations before we toss you higher. A solid reffing and adjusted damage, nothing more to say, approved as a rookie ref.
DarkCookieMaster: You made a huge DoubleTeam/Weathercondition mistake, that severly altered the battle which they were in, so I'm gonna have to ask you to try again for rookie ref next time. It's not that your damage calculations were wrong, it's just that that one flaw kinda ruined the round.
Double post!
Gotcha MLG. To be promoted to Expert, I need to be damn near flawless. Maybe I wasn't paying too much attention when I was doing the mock, but whatever the case, next time, I'll give ma full attention.
Now off I go to ref and shiz...
Alright. May I ask where my mistakes were, and how I should do them differently?
Well, the major one was the clones. Hail was up and after a while both Hail and Sandstorm meaning there was no way the clones should've survived (not even from the first move). Meaning that the first two moves that missed through 'clones', would've hit, making the it a totally different round.
Furthermore, "Kick charges straight at the fossil and unleashes very powerful, and very critical blows stright onto Six Leg. Ouch." Dunno if that was a Critical Hit or not, but I interpretated that scentence as a CH. Which cannot happen aswell, seeing that Six Legged Death has Battle Armor as an ability, which stops critical hits.
I'm not sure to tell you where to improve, seeing that I didn't see that many flaws, it's just more that you need to pay attention to the mock-battle, and see those little crappy difficulties that we put in there.
As I told you, you wouldn't make a bad ref, on the contrary; but I cannot approve you based on this reffing. So come back next time and show us how you do it.
Alright MLG. Thanks for the help
Is there anyone available to ref this tag match between myself and Green Lanturn?
kicker, and his clones, open up this round by winding up there left foot then releasing there rolling kick at six-legged death. six-legged death stunned by the ambush moved no were, fortunately for six-legged death that the two clones scraped his hip sides, the other clone missing completely, and kicker only kicking its claw.as a quick defense six-legged death uses its brine on kicker before it could use its clones to hide and protect it. the hail seams to keep falling from the havens.
Mock Battle!
Welcome one and all to the top of Mount Kazahana, where a fierce battle is still underway amidst this freezing hail!
Currently in battle are Kung Fu Katy and her Hitmonlee, Kicker (M):
vs. Ninja Charles and his Kabutops, Six-legged Death (F):
So far, it looks like Kicker has taken somewhat of a beating from Six-Legged Death,
after having boosted up her attack quite a bit.
But, there's a possibility Kicker can still come back with those 3 clones he created still standing strong by his side.
Oh! It looks like the pokemon and their trainers are ready for the next round, folks!
Focusing his sights on Six-legged, Kicker races foward with his clones. Oh! What's this? The hail has destroyed two of Kicker's clones!
Six-legged uses her energy to begin a buildup of an especially salty Brine, ready to fire it at Kicker...But no! Kicker's amazing speed allowed him to roll along the ground, jumping out of it quick enough in order to smash into Six-Legged with a strong Rolling Kick. Surprised by the blow just delivered to her, Six-Legged is too stunned to move...
Hauling herself up from that last attack, Six-Legged Death raises her scythes into the air,
causing an extremely strong Sandstorm to brew and mix into the falling Hail.
Wanting to keep up the offense while still close, Kicker focuses the heat of his body into his foot, crashing a beautiful Blaze Kick into Kabutops side, which (unfortunately for Kicker) was able to withstand most of the blow. As Kicker retreats back to his side for safety, the Hail/Sandstorm mixture annhilates the last of his clones
Despite being buffeted by both Hail and Sandstorm, Kicker rushes in with a frenzy of fists and feet (wooh alliteration!) to engange in Close Combat. Six-legged sees an opening in that flurry of limbs and begins slashing her scythes in rapid succession to create a shot of Razor Wind and...nothing. No shot of slicing air, just a Kabutops doing a crazy little dance.
And that looks like it's the end of this round, folks! Kicker is still standing, but just barely...Will he be able to make it the next round? Or will Six-Legged Death live up to her name and finish him off? Stay tuned!
‡ Pre-Round ‡
‡ Round ??? ‡
Ugh… deserts. Sun. Sand. Skin cancer. Today, this barren wasteland will serve as the backdrop for a battle in progress between Kung Fu Katy’s mighty Toxicroak and Ninja Charles’s spirited Porygon-Z. The blaring sun is beating the melanoma into us as we speak, so let’s get this match going!
E.V.O. gets things off to a bright and brilliant start as it release a triple beam of ice, lightning and fire. The Tri Attack collides with Ribbit, causing him slightly boosted damage, but the Toxicroak won’t be bested that easily. Even though he's practically drying up like a raisin beneath the sweltering sun, he closes his eyes and concentrates so that he can form a mental link with the unwilling E.V.O. Give it a moment aaaand… done! It’s Roleplaying time! (I put on my robe and wizard hat…)
Ribbit: <-12 HP; -8 EP; Ability: Adaptability>
E.V.O.: <-8 EP>
Glowing red, E.V.O. commands some pretty serious Psychic waves that buffet and beat away at Ribbit, taking a sizeable chunk out of the blue froggy’s health. Seriously injured, Ribbit goes in for a poisonous strike, but finds the move ineffective. He then hangs his head in shame. I think someone forgot to consult their type chart before going into battle, buster.
Ribbit: <-21 HP; -4 EP>
E.V.O.: <-9 EP>
Looks like some Pokes just never learn. Ribbit spews out a glob of Toxic goo at his foe, but the gunk just smacks uselessly into the Porygon-Z and slides down its digital body. Tough luck. Gleeful at its foe’s misfortune, E.V.O. tries to erect a Barrier to filter out damage and… nothing. E.V.O.'s attack fails due to some mysterious reason, but thanks for playing anyway!
Ribbit: <-4 EP>
E.V.O.: <Can’t move!>
