if you have adobe photoshop, then you'll probably have adobe imageready. that can save your gifs for you.
Hey guys, I've just experienced the most wonderful moment of my art life! I just made my very first real animation. Yesterday, I bought an animation kit for beginners and was pretty much inspired to make that husky animation I've been imagining in my mind. Well guess what? I did! Except I've run into a problem. Here it is:
Being so excited, I downloaded the first free GIF animation program I found on the internet. I drew my animation, scanned it, and saved each piece on Adobe. Then I transfered them to the new animation program. The animation looks absolutely wonderful, especially for my first one. I admit, I was almost in tears when I watched my own hand drawn drawing come to life before my eyes. It is of a Siberian husky outline running. It took only eight steps, but looks great. My actual problem is, the GIF program I downloaded is a demo program and will not allow me to save my animation. As said above, I have them all seperately saved on the computer, but I can't save them all as an animation on that program. The program is called MagicViewer Demo Edition.
Does anyone here know of any free downloadable GIF animation programs I can download that will allow me to save my animation? I am afraid to add detail to the animation before I can even save it. Please help me out, it would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Yes, I do have Imageready and I've looked into that program... But as far as I know, there isn't any way to play the animation. Remember, this is an actual play/stop moving picture. If Imageready does have this ability, could someone tell me how to access it?[

1) transfer your images to a separate folder.
2) in imageready, file -> import -> folder as frames. locate the folder you transferred your images to.
3) it will import the images as frames. to see this, make sure window -> animation is checked. also check optimize too.
4) in the optimize dialog, select gif.
5) file -> save optimized as... then select a destination for your file. then open it in any program able to view gif files (windows fax and picture viewer will do fine).
post if you have anymore problems.
Hey, cool i was gonna ask this question.....
I dont have the above program...
Is there an alternate GIF-making program i can dl?
There is Easy GIF animator... go here and I'm pretty sure you should be able to download a demo version. One you can save in.

Hey, thanks sooo much for the help! I couldn't get the Adobe Imageready program to work. I got to step 3 and couldn't figure it out from there. I couldn't find an animation option or an optimize option. But I am currently downloading the Easy GIF and I honestly think this is the program I've had before and was looking for, but couldn't remember its name. I don't even know where it came from because Nala98 found it and shared it with me. But thanks to all of you for the help. I will PM one of you if I have any more trouble. Is it possible to share animations here on TPM? I would really love to share my running husky and see what people think of my first one! Thanks again!

I know I had a similar probelm right at the begining concerning something that needed to be set to gif format.
anywhos.. I hope you have some animation program up and going by now.
Providing the image fits with the uploading specifications, it's fine.Originally posted by Meowth_Kitten
