This game is similar in ways to Pokemon Hangman, The Riddle Game, and Lingo. However, it has some differences. To play this game, you are given the name of a Pokemon, but only the first letter. You are not given the number of letters in the Pokemon's name though, so to figure a puzzle out, you have to use a bit of logic. Basically, you have to guess Pokemon names that start with the same letter as the one being done (unlike in Pokemon Hangman, you cannot guess letters, you have to find at least one more of their positions through the guesses made, besides the first letter). The thing is, each time a guess is made, the one whose turn it is has to indicate how many letters the guess has in common with the Pokemon being done, if any (aka the same letter(s) in the same place(s) the guess has with the correct Pokemon, for example, if the Pokemon is Breloom, and someone guesses Bronzor, you'd post Br???o*, where the question marks each represent a single letter, and the asterisk represents at least one letter (hence why the asterisk is on the end when applicable). If someone correctly guesses the Pokemon, they will win a figurine of the Pokemon, and can now make their own logic Pokemon puzzle for everyone else to figure out.
When a puzzle is being done, individuals can make as many guesses as they want per puzzle, but there is a max of 9 incorrect guesses allowed on a single puzzle. If a 10th incorrect guess occurs on a particular puzzle, the Pokemon that was being done is revealed, but nobody wins the figurine, and a worker will do the next puzzle (it's similar to what happens if the man hangs in Pokemon Hangman; a worker has to do the next puzzle if a "hanging" here happens).
In the event someone accidentally misspells the name of a Pokemon while another person is doing a puzzle, the person doing the puzzle needs to disregard the guess, since a misspelling of a Pokemon's name can still give away information. For such a situation, the misspelled guess isn't counted as an incorrect guess, thus no information comes out of it.
When someone here is doing a puzzle, you're welcome to use the BrainStrain Calculator, a big thanks goes to Lady Vulpix for making this calculator.
A note on legendaries, shinies, mega evolved, Dynamaxed, and Gigantamaxed figurines- even though they can come up here, only workers can give them out, with the exception of Dynamaxed figurines which can be given out by anyone. Also, if you win a legendary figurine that has more than one form, you may choose its form. However, in the event you win a shiny Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres, it'll be in its Kanto form as the Galar forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres cannot be shiny.
In addition to Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres, the following Pokemon cannot be shiny here:
Cosplay Pikachu, Pikachu in a cap, Spiky-eared Pichu, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Ash-Greninja, Fancy Pattern Vivillon, Poke Ball Pattern Vivillon, Hoopa, Volcanion, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Magearna, Marshadow, Gigantamax Melmetal, Zacian, Zamazenta, Eternatus, Kubfu, Urshifu, Zarude, Glastrier, Spectrier, and Calyrex.
We encourage players here to take responsibility in using the Gallery, so if you win a new figurine, you should update your post there (or make one, if you have at least one figurine, but haven't posted in the Gallery yet) to reflect the addition of your new figurine.
Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon/Sword/Shield Pokemon are now available to be won as figurines (including Alolan and Galarian versions of earlier Pokemon).
Also, if it's your birthday, you're more than welcome to pick any figurine you want for your birthday (excluding legendaries), however, you cannot pick a figurine that is shiny, mega evolved, Dynamaxed, or Gigantamaxed, as they are all obviously rarer than legendaries (if you're asking for a figurine of a Pokemon that has more than one form, you can choose its form). When it is your birthday, just post here saying what regular coloured/sized, non-mega evolved, non-legendary figurine you want and one of the workers will give you your figurine on their next post.
Players, you may use the Official Pokemon BrainStrain Randomizer to help you pick a Pokemon for a BrainStrain puzzle here. If you select a Pokemon with alternate forms using the Official Pokemon BrainStrain Randomizer, it will tell you that form, using either parentheses, like "UNOWN (A)", or additional flavor text, like "BURMY Steel." Please don't include this extra information when doing your puzzle. You may reveal it though, if someone has won the figurine.
