Default Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (4th gen remakes)

Hi guys! So the news are officially out: we're getting remakes for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Jumping straight to the point, I wanted to know your thoughts on the trailer and on what we have so far.

Here is the link to the trailer for those who haven't seen it yet: https://youtu.be/1pDI8Scph44

While this is good news, I moved it to fourth generation forum since I think that would be a more appropriate place than the Gen 8 forum.

I knew that Gen IV remakes were coming based on the Crown Tundra not having the Sinnoh fossil Pokémon which was very suspicious and also because Chingling wasn’t available despite the Pure Incense being in the games from the very start.

After finishing my Pokemon Moon, I moved back to Pokemon Ruby to play it through with my Game Boy Player. After that, the only Gen I hadn't completed was Gen IV. I eventually played my Diamond through, too, but I was missing the opportunity to play it on TV, so I might want to have one of these.

They look pretty good, definitely have a nostalgic look to them, and it looks like it is going to bring back pretty much all of the stuff that the original Diamond/Pearl had. I am hoping that they have more of that old Pokemon game feel to them, it looks like they will, so i am looking forward to them for sure.

I'm not really excited, myself. When the first two gens got remakes, it was to add a level of polish that just wasn't capable on the original Game Boy. Gen 3 onward games still play fine, and I actually just finished a run of Platinum recently. It doesn't jump out at me as something I need to play in an updated form.

But I'm happy for those who wanted them.

I only found out about these two upcoming remakes yesterday. I'm personally looking forward to them. I think Diamond/Pearl were the versions I played most from alle Pokémon games (except R/B/Y) and it was the last time where I was actively following competitive play. To me it was the best series of Pokémon games.

Right now, I'm leaning towards getting the Diamond version, which I believe is the version I got when it originally came out.

Out of all of the pokemon games, I think I played R/B the most. I never went back and replayed any of the other versions, except for G/S but not to the same extent as R/B.

Same, I'll also get Diamond which was my original go-to version.

A new trailer was recently released. The improved graphics look good.

Yeah, they are decent. Pokémon is never going to win any graphics-related prices anyway.

I’m more excited for it now that the new trailer is out. It’s reminded me of all the things I loved about Diamond and Pearl back when I first played.

I pre-ordered the dual pack at GameStop and only have $15 left. I plan on saving the $5 off coupon I get every month to pay $10 when I pick the games up.

I got Brilliant Diamond today. I have yet to get my first gym badge. So far my team consists of Piplup and Shinx.

Edit: I'm now on my way to get the seventh badge. My team consists of Empoleon, Luxray, Houndoom, Toxicroak, Murkrow, and Hippowdon. I ended up naming them after Marvel Comics characters.

    Empoleon - Namor

    Luxray - Shocker

    Houndoom - Sunfire

    Toxicroak - X-23

    Murkrow - Archangel

    Hippowdon - Quake
