Awesome, we're up! Kumin - Mienshao m, Regenerator.

Alright, so - Fake Out for free damage (if it Protects, switch to Bulk Up), use Bulk Up because it's an awesome boost to have in this tourney, then hit it with Force Palm.

Well since you said for Bulk Up to be used if Protect is used, use Detect instead and dodge the move. Then Bulk Up when he does, cancelling it out. Then Hi Jump Kick and hope for the best.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 1 ‡

Welcome to another tournament battle for the P1 Grand Stand Tournament! Today, two tried and tested League battlers step into the ring to lay a claim for the title: on one hand we have Kumin, Mienshao extraordinaire, and on the other we have Ebiwalar, who’s as fierce of a Hitmon as you’ll find. Well, I’ve run out of things to say so you can start hitting each other and stuff now. Yeah, that was the cue to start. Now do it!

Kumin starts off with a surprise maneuver, swooping far to the left and then snaking in for a surprise hit! Ebiwalar, however, uses the mental focus only a true Fighting-type can have mastered and manages to leap out of the path of the hit! He jabs air a couple times tauntingly.

    Kumin: <-2 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-8 EP>

Both battlers ease up on the gas and shift their tactics a little. Instead of outright attacking, they begin laying the ground for the rest of the battle: they begin doing push-ups and squat thrusts, upping their offensive and defensive prowess.

    Kumin: <-4 EP; +1 Att; +1 Def>
    Ebiwalar: <-4 EP; +1 Att; +1 Def>

Kumin then darts in for another strike. With his palm open, he thrusts it forward, taking Ebiwalar right in the gut. Kumin’s hit turns out to be as powerful as the spice after which he is named (kinda)! Taking a moment to set himself right, the Hitmonchan… leaps in the air? And then swoops in for a powerful kick? Hey, hey. You ain’t no Hitmonlee. However, Ebiwalar says screw it to convention and goes through with the attack, which works marvelously. Kumin is thrown backward into the ropes, shocked by the severity of that single hit.

    Kumin: <-15 HP; -4 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-8 HP; -11 EP>

Surely a Mienshao should be familiar with a Hi Jump Kick! Also, Kumin should have pluses in stats too.

Alright, Ebi, use Thunderpunch, then another Bulk Up and finish with Close Combat.
Let's see how much this blows up in my face. Aaah the joys of going first...

Alright, let's go with a Reflect to take the sting off that Thunderpunch, then Swords Dance while he boosts too, and finish up with Counter.

    ‡ Round 2 ‡

With things pretty darn close to being even-steven, it’s still anyone’s match. Kumin waves his flappy arm-things before him, raising a translucent silver barrier in front of him. Ebiwalar’s fist crackles with electric current as he brings it slamming against his foe, but the end result leaves a little to be desired. Though Iron Fist boosts the attack, the Reflect filters out a hefty portion of the damage.

    Kumin: <-6 HP; -4 EP; Rft>
    Ebiwalar: <-6 EP>

Both battlers put the fisticuffs on hold as they work on acquiring some stat boosts. Kumin pirouettes with profound grace as Ebiwalar practices some calisthenics. Which fighter will be able to use their new strength to acquire victory?

    Kumin: <-4 EP; +2 Att>
    Ebiwalar: <-4 EP; +1 Att; +1 Def>

Play resumes as Kumin crouches and assumes a defensive stance. Ebiwalar throws himself forward and attacks with everything he’s got, lobbing blow after blow on his opponent. Kumin waits until Ebiwalar overextends a punch before grabbing onto the Hitmonchan’s brittle arm and tossing him clear out of the ring.

    Kumin: <-8 HP; -8 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-18 HP; -10 EP; -1 Def; -1 SpD>

Jump in quickly with a taunt to stop it boosting further, then use Toxic, and finish with Vital Throw.

Okay, Brick Break, then get hit with the Toxic and strike back with Facade. Then use Dynamicpunch. Let's see if we hit.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 3 ‡

A little weary, Ebiwalar clambers back into the ring. Though the Hitmonchan seems to be trailing a bit overall, he is far from out of the running. Kumin sneers and tells Ebiwalar that he punches as well as an Unown. (The joke there being that… y’know… Unowns don’t have any hands… and so they can’t… well, anyway.) Sent into a swirling rage, Ebiwalar slams his open palm forward and smashes his opponent in the gut. The silver screen hanging in front of the Mienshao smashes to pieces, rendering him once again vulnerable.

    Kumin: <-12 HP; -4 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-6 EP; Tnt>

Kumin makes some lovely horking noises before spewing a glob of purple goo at Ebiwalar. The substance sizzles against his skin and osmoses into his body, rendering him more than a little ill. Motivated by this unfortunate turn of events, Ebiwalar gets scrappy with a series of random physical blows. Kumin tries to brace himself, but that Hitmonchan hits hard.

    Kumin: <-16 HP; -4 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-5 EP; Txc>

Fist poised to do some serious harm, Ebiwalar swings hard and… misses entirely, causing him to stumble toward the ropes. As he tries to stabilize himself, Kumin hoists the wiry fighter over his head before bringing him slamming down against the stage. And you thought Ebiwalar was angry before…

    Kumin: <-5 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-13 HP; -8 EP>

    Ebiwalar's stomach begins to turn <-3 HP>.

Alright, go for Drain Punch x2, then Sky Uppercut.

Strangely enough Hitmonchan doesn't know any Flying or Psychic moves, so so much for SE damage.

Kumin, let's go! Torment him to stop him using that second drain punch, then in the gap hit him with Focus Punch (just discovered it can't learn that move! Damn!) Anyways, hit him with Drain Punch twice instad, give him a taste of his own medicine. Twice. why can it learn drain punch but not focus punch it makes no sense oh why

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 4 ‡

Though Kumin seems to be winning overall, all that energy he’s sitting on won’t mean a lot of Ebiwalar knocks him out before he has a chance to use it. As the next round begins, Kumin flicks Ebiwalar on the nose and Ebiwalar is all like hey, buddy, stop that. Kumin flicks Ebiwalar again and the Hitmonchan is all like really now, for serious, don’t be flicking me. Kumin, however, does it yet again and Ebiwalar really seems to be Tormented this time. He draws back his Iron Fist before propelling it forward, clobbering that irritating flappy-armed feline in the face. Some nourishing health filters through Ebiwalar’s glove. Yay!

    Kumin: <-15 HP; -4 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <+8 HP; -6 EP; Tmt>

Kumin takes a step toward Ebiwalar who, fearing another flick, opts to brace himself from another Tormenting gesture instead of attacking. With an opening now available to him, Kumin follows suit with a health-sucking punch of his own. Stall match… commence!

    Kumin: <+7 HP; -6 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-14 HP; Can’t move!>

Eager to replete his ailing state, Kumin makes with the third Drain Punch of the round. Ebiwalar, who has to be on the cusp of concussing at this point, keeps his head in the game while also changing things up. With an upward strike, Ebiwalar sends Kumin flying skyward. The Mienshao desperately starts flailing his flappy flappers in hopes that they’ll let him attain flight, but sadly not even anime physics will make that possible. Kumin plummets back down to the ring and collides hard with the platform. Stupid useless flappers…

    Kumin: <-16 HP; +7 HP; -6 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-14 HP; -7 EP>

Ebiwalar's stomach feels like it's on fire as the Toxin's strength elevates <-5 HP>.

Nice and simple this time - let's get MAD! Go with a Drain Punch, followed with Acrobatics and Drain Punch combo. if it Protects/Detects/maneuvers around the attack in any way (eg. Bounce, dig, etc) then wait for it to resurface or for the barrier to fade before attacking.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 5 ‡

We've reached the match's endgame as both fighters vie to maneuver their way to victory. With yet another health-sucking punch, Kumin prepares to thwack Ebiwalar for a major blow. However, the Hitmonchan guardedly raises his gloves, takes the hit and then latches onto one of Kumin's whiskers. Ahh! The pain! Shrieking and flailing, Kumin is spun in circles and then slammed against the platform. A devious tactic, but an extremely effective one.

    Kumin: <-22 HP; +7 HP; -6 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-12 HP; -8 EP>

Hanging on only by the health he garnered from that last Drain Punch, Kumin clambers to his feet and prepares to knock his opponent out in one go. He combines a Drain Punch with some bizarre backflippy aerial maneuvers, landing a hard blow that pins Ebiwalar to the ground. His eyes close and it appears as though Kumin has won the battle... that is, until the Hitmonchan snaps back to life. He's barely hanging on, but he's hanging on nonetheless.

    Kumin: <+7 HP; -10 EP>
    Ebiwalar: <-21 HP; -4 EP; Endured>

Drawing back his glove, Ebiwalar delivers one of the single most powerful moves a Fighting-type Pokemon at 1 HP can possibly deliver. Kumin is thrown out of the ring and lands in the stands amid many bewildered watchers. Just like that, this match is over. KO.

    Kumin: <-14 HP>
    Ebiwalar: <-10 EP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

Great battle, you guys! Ridiculously close. Rossy, kudos for using a move that's often forgotten about. You get two points and progress to the next round of the tournament while Cynder gets one. I nab four.

    Later!
