    Default Final Fantasy [Sign Ups]

Ash fell from the heavens, and it is in that darkest time that the piercing light came: a beacon from the Goddess that she had not abandoned her peoples. In the glory that is she, the sky turned blue and the ashes changed to snow.

Blessed snow: mark of the Goddess Lindzei - guide our steps and make sure the ashen rain never returns. For we are your eternal servants and will never question your judgement…

    = - + - =

Eons ago, the world was dark and void of the Goddess’s light. Humans fought with creatures beyond the imagination, and it was on the cusp of their annihilation, that Lindzei appeared as a single beam of light, cutting across sky, banishing the curse of disorder.

As her light sheltered the world, humans prospered. Cities arose, and the power of humanity was unable to be questioned. War against the creatures of the once darkened plains ended with the near eradication of all the twisted beings.

To aid humanity, Lindzei created the fal’Cie, beings of tremendous magical power to guide the fledging race. They were ordered to nurture the new world and the humans, so that they will never displease their Goddess.

Centuries past, darkness began to return. Monstrous thunderstorms emerged, and falling from them was not rain, but ash. Long thought dead monsters arose, and the ash twisted some of the natural fauna into creatures of nightmares.

Desperate to fend off the coming ash, the Inner Council – charged with protecting the prosperity of the entire human race, turned to the fal’Cie for guidance.

The fal’Cie had watched in silence for millennia, but upon the request of humanity they spoke. Ultima – Lady-Sovereign of the fal’Cie, created Alexandria - a floating city with enough power to shield the lands of humanity from the terrifying storms, and house the entire government. And from there she split the fal’Cie into two groups.

Those that would look after Gaia – the wilderness, and those that would look after Eden – Humanity’s shelter and home.

Eden’s government saw a shift in power.

Ultima and her fal’Cie brethren now ruled from the fortress-city of Alexandria, with a single human appointed to be their intermediary.

Below Alexendria however, the cities and technology differed greatly. With no direct fal’Cie influence, humanity was left to advance on its own. The shining beauty of the unlimited power of the new rulers did not touch the practicality of the human cities. With their trains, vehicles, and clunkier civilian airships…

    = - + - =

Ultima, physical manifestation of all that is pure and untainted… she is the beacon to the Goddess, her will shall be ours. For it is in her divine eyes that Lindzei watches over Eden and its people. We mark the day the fal’Cie saved us with a massive fireworks display over the bay in Ramblum.

Let it be known – shall a threat arise to Alexandria and her queen: Ultima that war will be upon us. For not even growing Gaian scourge and it’s king: Humbaba can withstand the wrath of the faithful…

    Final Fantasy
    The Ashen Realm

Yes, this marks the return of Final Fantasy to RPG. I can hear the groans some of you are making, but… to bad. Anyways!

Now if you’re unfamiliar with the lore of Final Fantasy 13, that’s fine. Just realize that Lindzei, and fal’Cie are from the Final Fantasy 13 universe. Now, what you need to know about Final Fantasy: The Ashen Realm…

The world: It’s split into two major sections: Eden and Gaia.

Eden is a massive shielded area of Gaia, and its home to most if not all of the human population. Its capital is Alexandria – the seat of power for Ultima and her human representative: Matriarch Kara Myst. There are two very distinct technologies at play in Eden: anything that has been designed and/or controlled by the fal’Cie resembles the technology level of Final Fantasy 13. However, anything that humanity has created on its own is much closer to our modern age right now (complete with traffic lights!).

The shield itself spawns from a massive floating orb over Alexendria, and the shield itself is perfectly clear, save for when you get near the bottom (where it disappears into the ground), there it glows a soft blue as a warning that its present.

Gaia on the other hand, is not so friendly. Sprawling wilderness covers the land, and is no paradise. Mountains, deserts, snow-blasted lands, and ruined cities mark what once was protected by Lindzei’s divine light. It is run amok with fiends and creatures that many in Eden could scarce believe. The reigning race of monsters is the might Behemoths, ruled by their tyrant King Humbaba on the Bay of Cosmos. Gaia is often terrorized by fierce thunderstorms that rain ash, the mark of chaos and death. Legend says entire cities have been lost to the fall of constant ash, buried under a sea of grey.

    People:
The Humans: the most abundant race, humanity has proven that it’s capable. However, much like children, when something scares them, they go running to their protectors. Humanity now near worships the fal’Cie as their protectors and near-gods, to the point where new sermons and analects state that Ultima is Lindzei in physical form.

The fal’Cie: created to protect humanity and watch over the planet, the fal’Cie are silent beings that preform their tasks admirably and have near limitless magical power. Ultima is their Lady-Sovereign, and is now the undisputed ruler of Alexandria and humanity.

The Behemoths: while originally not the most tech-savvy creatures, the behemoths ruled Gaia before Lindzei brought humanity into the light. They directly oppose Eden, and have been raging a futile war against Eden for a long time. They’ve been scavenging technology off the old human cities, and the few unlucky outer patrols they can ambush. They see the ash as a mark for a new, Lindzei-free age.

Classes: You don’t get these right off the start, but you are welcome to pick one. It’ll be quite clear when these come into play. Until they’re unlocked, consider yourself a normal, everyday human. I would like one of each type before we start seeing doubles.

Commando: A physical fighter, the commando role boosts the capabilities of the fighter. They can leap higher, hit harder, and are quite agile.

    Name: Eden Myst

    Age: 23

    Gender: Female

    Class: Commando

Personality: Not by any means weak, Eden is a determined, solitary fighter. Her determination and steadfastness can often real that Eden is in actual fact: incredibly stubborn and critical. She’s usually calm and cool in most combat situations, though she can be goaded (if the opponent is really determined to anger her) into acting a bit rashly. She speaks little about herself or her past, ignoring comments about being the sister of Ultima’s chosen representative or her name baring a striking resemblance to humanity’s home. She has little patience for idiocy, weakness and crybabies. Most often her tone is a judgemental one, never seemingly happy with people’s efforts. She can be supportive and kind, but it’s rare to see that side of the hunter.

… She also has a nasty habit of having sarcastic remarks for people who annoy or pester her.

Appearance: Eden has charcoal black hair with pale blue eyes, and stands at 5’9’’. She has a black, strapless corset-styled top that has an onyx black plate forming to the curve of her spine at the back. The metal plate itself has Gaian text on it, saying ‘Let the stars guide your steps’ near the bottom in faint silver etching. Her right shoulder has an oynx-black coloured metallic pauldron on it, with two glowing orange strips on it. Her left shoulder is bare, while the arm is covered in a black, skin-tight material that comes up halfway on her bicep. Either hand as a glove on it with armored-knuckles, with the left hand digits is also armored. Covering her upper half is a slim, done up sleeveless overcoat that’s white for the most part, save for the back that displays the seven pointed star sigil of Eden in a brilliant blue. Her pants are simple tan cargos, not as loose as many variations, and are held onto her hips by a thick, simple brown belt with a silver-coloured buckle. Her sword is supported and stored in a harness hanging from her hips and on her back (the gunblade comes in two pieces). Her boots are black, and have a tad bit of armoring on the front of it, as well as an inch heel, making Eden stand at 5’10’’.

    Occupation: Alexandrian Command Huntress

Weapon: Gunblade – The Ashen Fall: Eden’s gunblade actually had three forms. The base form of it is two separate short blades, they look very much the fantasy idea of this world and the weapon itself is clearly of fal’Cie origin. Its base colour is red, with translucent blues and purples edging, and golden engraving of Gaian Text. The words say ‘Guardian of the Goddess, may the Piercing Light guide you’, though it’s only eligible when the blade is combined together, where it assumes a form close to Lightning’s Gunblade in FF13-2. When the gunblade transforms into its rifle form, it’s slightly more align the lines of a fantasy-sniper rifle, with a purple laser pointer and blue lenses in the scope.

History: Eden grew up the younger sister of the incredibly smart and talented Kara. Eden has always admired her sister, and supports her in nearly everything she does. When Eden was sixteen, she enrolled in the Alexandrian Command: a military organization trusted with protecting Ultima, Alexandria and the entirety of humanity’s lands. She was quick to advance, having unbelievable devotion to the ideal that the Command presented. Eden is one of the few who had been outside of shielded area, though not too far, she is capable huntress, and pursued her marks into the ash rain itself to rid the world of them.

She’s one of the top-ranking mark hunters in Eden, and has seen two fal’Cie: Ramuh of Aiethon and Golem, a massive fal’Cie that wanders the unprotected, ash covered Gaian lands. She’s also trained new recruits in both the Alexandrian Command and the Eden Defence Core (a more localized policing force)

Relationships: Old friends with Bellaevis and Markus, and older sister to Nova.

    Other: None!
