I love how this topic coincides with the "NASA's Space Shuttle Program Ends" thread, and I'm sure any other Trek fans on the forums hold similar sentiments to mine.
The Enterprise looks pretty nice. It seems a little sleeker than some of the other versions that I recall, with more subtly rounded edges and a flatter frame as a whole. That's both good and bad; it's probably a little more realistic as a space craft, but from a fandom point of view that may make it a little less memorable.
To me, though, the bigger question is, if the series is renewed once again, whether the characters and their actors will be as brilliant as those of the original Trek and of TNG. I doubt that any change, however great or small, will fully take hold if it doesn't grab the diehards and the casual fans in this way... even a representation in the gaming realm just isn't as memorable when you're not following along with every other avid watcher (and not all fans will get into the gaming aspect, for better or worse).
Well, I'll cross my fingers and hope that this is a sign heralding big things to come. Writers, producers, television execs... make it so.
