    ‡ Pre-Round ‡
    ‡ Round 11 ‡

Hrm… Felsendrache has definitely seen better days. The poor Flygon can hardly keep himself upright, but he manages to keep his gaze locked on Carly as he charges up a Fire Blast. Carly, however, is the first to move and commands an Icy Wind to come blowing through the hall. The cold saps the last remaining health from Felsendrache and, as he falls, he successfully unleashes that Fire Blast at the Steel-type.

14 damage seems a little low for a super-effective attack that is incredibly powerful... =/

Well, the Movelist ranks Fire Blast as an Excellent move. It isn't incredibly powerful.

I calculate super-effective damage using a simple +4 modifier and I haven't had anyone speak up so far. If I were to change that to the way the games calculate super-effective damage, the Blizzard against Felsendrache earlier would have done 40 damage. (And that's capped, not including Carly's +2 SpA.) I dun think you'd want that.

If you'd like, from now on I can use a +6 modifier for Excellent moves that are super-effective. It's not a huge difference, but it's the largest one I would realistically make. I've been contemplating making the switch (+3 for Light moves, +4 for Good moves, +6 for Excellent moves, +8 for Incredible moves) for any new battles I ref, but I can apply it for the remainder of this fight.

The reason why I don't calculate damage geometrically is because then damage gets out of control, the 40 from a simple Blizzard being a good example.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡
    ‡ Round 12 ‡

As Felsendrache returns to his Pokeball after a good fight, Grey is left to contemplate his final selection… except not really, since the choices were predetermined, but eh, whatevs! With a pop, out comes a mighty Metagross ready to kick some digital duckie behind. Right off the bat, Carly decides to fry the bajeebuz out of its new foe with an electrical Discharge but, at the last second, Brigadier splits into three clones. Woah! The electricity sparkles through one of the faux-Metagrosses, causing it to vanish. Bummer.

    Carly: <-4 EP>
    Brigadier: <-4 EP; 2 clones>

Irked, Carly takes aim at one of the remaining Metagrosses and opts for a Shadow Ball this time around. The swirling ball of darkness sails uselessly through a clone. Oh, drat! Brigadier chuckles deeply and approaches Carly. It lashes out with one of its weighty arms, clobbering Carly at the cost of some health. Ouchies!

    Carly: <-14 HP; -9 EP>
    Brigadier: <-7 EP; -1 Spd; 1 clone>

Hrm, let’s try this again. Eenie, meenie, minie… moe! With a dazzling flash, Carly’s Discharge crackles through the last clone. Come on! Now exposed, Brigadier decides to finish things once and for all with a mighty Electric-type move of his own. His sizzling Thunder Punch collides with Carly and brings the Porygon-Z down once and for all.

    Carly: <-6 HP; -4 EP>
    Brigadier: <-4 EP; 0 clones>

And... we're off! The teleportation kicks in once more and soon we find ourselves in a quaint little museum bedecked with priceless pieces of art and ancient statues. Welcome to the Lilycove Museum! We're probably not supposed to battle here, but eh, hasn't stopped us yet.

Hide behind the art-panels and start Singing! Then if it's asleep use Belly Drum followed up with Aqua Ring.

If not, then use Sing again, followed with Belly Drum if alseep then. If not, use Future Sight.

Sing ~ Belly Drum (Sub: Sing) ~ Aqua Ring (Sub: Belly Drum / Future Sight)

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡
    ‡ Round 13 ‡

MLG recalls his fallen Porygon-Z before making his final selection of the battle. With a toss, MLG calls out a squat blue rabbit with a bubble-patterned chest. The end is almost upon us! The mighty Metagross begins charging toward Minne who, in a panic, throws herself behind a tall panel on which hangs a painting of a wee little Oddish. However, Brigadier proves to be no art enthusiast and slams one of his arms into the panel, destroying it and bringing the rubble crashing down upon Minne. Ouchies. Dazed and injured, the Azumarill pokes her head out of the remnants of the decimated panel and begins Singing. Her quiet tunes echo through the silent gallery and Brigadier begins to feel sleepy. With a crash, the megaton warrior collapses to the ground. Out like a light.

    Minne: <-8 HP; -3 EP>
    Brigadier: <-7 EP; -1 Spd; Asleep>

While Brigadier sleeps, Minne is free to kick a little Metagross ass with impunity. She begins hammering on her chest and shouting a battle cry. That’s one crazy Azumarill.

    Minne: <-5 EP; +6 Att>
    Brigadier: <Zzz>

Just then, Minne further sets the stage by shooting out a gentle spray of water that curves around her body into the form of a ring. Ooh, mysterious.

    Minne: <-4 EP>
    Brigadier: <Zzz>

An invigorating splash of water lends a little life energy to Minne <+3 HP>.

Since her attack power's already at maximum, giving her anymore can't hurt. Use Swagger, Brig, to make her too angry to focus on any clones. Then, as she comes in for an attack, ThunderPunch her to the ground! Finally, keep her off balance with a devastating Earthquake!

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡
    ‡ Round 14 ‡

As the next round begins, Brigadier gives a stir and hops to his feet, awake. Minne tries to create some clones but, to celebrate his return to consciousness, the Metagross begins strutting around like he owns the place. Infuriated, Minne's plan becomes derailed and she starts growling under her breath, too Confused and frustrated to do anything but stand there and grimace.

    Minne: <Can’t move!; Confused>
    Brigadier: <-4 EP>

Exhaling, Minne closes her eyes and begins to build her concentration. Having subverted the Azumarill’s’s attempt to create a few chummy doppelangers, Brigadier springs forth as one of his mighty legs crackles with electricity. He swings the heavy chunk of charged steel toward Minne, tossing her into one of the nearby wall panels and shooting cracks right through it. Just like that, her focus is broken and, once again, the little sea bunny is immobilized.

    Minne: <-9 HP; Can’t move!>
    Brigadier: <-4 EP>

Suddenly, Brigadier throws a fuss by slamming his every appendage against the ground with such ceaseless repetition that the very earth beneath us begins to shake. The cracks in the wall panel increase and the entire thing collapses on her. Still, the jolt allows her to overcome her Confusion prematurely. She then bounces toward Brigadier and attacks the big steely lunk with a hard-hitting punch. Her souped-up strength causes the Brigadier to be thrown into the far wall. Moreover, his brain is left a little scrambled from such a hard hit. Not good.

    Minne: <-9 HP; -4 EP>
    Brigadier: <-17 HP; -9 EP; Confused>

The Aqua Ring blesses Minne with a little health <+3 HP>.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡
    ‡ Round 15 ‡

Still a little Confused, Brigadier begins hammering itself over the head with one of its weighty legs. Uh… that’s probably not a good idea so much. Minne smirks and does a happy little jig to summon rainclouds. Of course, since we’re inside, we’re unaffected… but man, those thunderclaps sound cool!

    Minne: <-3 EP>
    Brigadier: <-3 HP>

All of a sudden, Brigadier begins to glow red. The Metagross then starts bludgeoning Minne with invisible Psychic cudgels. As the final psionic impact takes its toll on the Azumarill, water begins to surround her tail. She then springs toward Brigadier and slams her Aqua Tail into Brigadier’s mighty iron frame, causing him to crumple from the sheer strength of the impact. Too many of those and this match won’t last much longer.

    Minne: <-9 HP; -4 EP>
    Brigadier: <-17 HP; -9 EP>

Giving its head a good shake, Brigadier manages to overcome Confusion. Woohoo! His celebration consists of an electrified punch right to Minne’s gut, causing the sea bunny’s muscles to seize up unpleasantly. Still, she pulls it together for a second Aqua Tail that causes Brigadier to skid across the floor, tearing up the parquetry. Poor lunk is never gonna want to take a bath ever again after this one.

    Minne: <-10 HP; -4 EP; Paralyzed>
    Brigadier: <-17 HP; -4 EP>

Minne receives even more health from the rings of water orbiting her <+3 HP>.

Just then, we teleport! Gone is the smashed up museum (teehee, that was awesome) and we soon find ourselves in a new location. A roaring crowd looks on excitedly as we find ourselves at the terminus of so many Pokemon journeys. The sun shines above the open stadium, casting light on the primary arena of Sinnoh's Pokemon League. Will our match be decided here? Time to find out!

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡
    ‡ Round 16 ‡

Suffering from Paralysis, Minne seems to be worse off on Speed than clunky ol’ Brigadier. The big metal lunk starts by forging a metal link with the sea bunny, imposing her own boost in strength on itself. As newfound power surges through Brigadier’s iron frame, Minne lunges at him with another Aqua Tail, throwing the Metagross against the stadium wall. Is his Psych Up too late to turn the tide on this battle?

    Minne: <-4 EP>
    Brigadier: <-17 HP; -5 EP>

Now that it shares all of Minne’s heightened Attack, Brigadier’s ThunderPunch doesn’t just crackle with electricity—it roars! He approaches Brigadier and slams his weighty limb into her, shocking her thoroughly and launching her back against the stadium’s opposite wall. Suddenly, Paralysis kicks in and she merely lies there in a daze, unable to even pull herself to her feet.

    Minne: <-22 HP; Can’t move!>
    Brigadier: <-4 EP>

Without any compunction in the least, Brigadier storms toward Minne as she lies there helpless. It slams her into the Azumarill, pinning her against the wall as it turns up the juice. She lets out a cry of agony as the volts start coursing through her body. All of a sudden, with Superpowered strength, Minne wrestles herself free of Brigadier’s death grip and picks the Metagross up by the leg. With a mighty swing, she hurls him skyward. The Brigadier reaches the apex of his flight before plummeting, landing smack-dab in the middle of the arena with a sonorous thud.

    This’ll be a cloooose one…

    Minne: <-22 HP; -10 EP; -1 Att; -1 Def>
    Brigadier: <-24 HP; -4 EP>

The Aqua Ring does to Minne what it does best <+3 HP>.

She can't protect or endure whatsoever, Brig, so we're going to hafta take her down in one shot. Use Bullet Punch + ThunderPunch -- her paralysis should make it easy for you to strike her first -- however, if she tries to put you to sleep at all, put up a small Substitute first, then continue with your combo.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡
    ‡ Round 17 ‡

Five cities, seventeen rounds, two and a half months—and it all ends here!

Brigadier is the first to make his approach. He turns on the juice as one of his legs charges up with ample amounts of electricity. He gallops toward Minne, eager to do the little sea bunny in, and brings the weighty limbs slamming down against the Azumarill. All of a sudden, no, it can’t be… raising her arms up, Minne catches the leg and holds it overhead! What strength! Brigadier grunts, trying to bring his limb down to crush Minne, who refuses to relax her grip on the Metagross’s leg as a kajillion volts of electricity run through her body. They remain like this for a moment, two titans testing each others power.

But something has to give. Though Minne tries to Endure herself against the damage, the battle frenzy she entered into four rounds prior makes this impossible. Thus, before Minne can muster up the strength to hoist up Brigadier and Fling him away, her grip slackens and she crumples, crushed beneath the Metagross’s solid leg. She doesn’t get back up.

And with that, this match is done!

    Minne: <-24 HP>
    Brigadier: <-9 EP>

Epic battle, guys! This was definitely an exciting one to ref and I think it would make a superb made-for-TV movie... so long as I can be played by Matt Damon, of course.

Anyway, for winning, Grey receives six points. I also get six points while MLG receives three. Great work to you both.

    And that's that! *poof*
